Last night the Vixens were lucky enough to train with Sale Shark's India Perris-Redding who came along to co-coach their session. The team took part in a fun and interactive training session whilst improving on current skills and learning new ones.

A big thank you to India who gave up her Wednesday Evening to spend with our incredible Women's Team.

🏉 Match Report:
Vixens v Rochdale 22/3/26

Yesterday’s game saw the Vixens on the road again for the third consecutive time, travelling yet again with a depleted squad and had to shuffle the team around with players in new positions, which didn’t detract from their typical display of courage and heroism.

The Vixens kicked off the first half and were quickly undone by a Rochdale double and were instantly on the back foot. The floodgates could have opened very easily but the Rochdale tries woke the Vixens up.

What followed was a very strong tough tackling response which Rochdale did not expect, the Vixens flew in hard with the tackles and pushed up in defence with purpose and determination. For a lot of the first half the Vixens found themselves battering the Rochdale defence only to come up short on several occasions. On another day these plays would have secured several tries.

Rochdale mixed up the play, slowing the play down at times and flew in with high tackles which saw 3 players sent to the bin. Unfortunately the Vixens couldn’t capitalise on the advantage and were brought back for trying to play a quick ball far too many times. The half closed out with Rochdale comfortably ahead but by no means cruising.

The second half started well for the Vixens with powerful runs from forwards and backs and quick ball in hand only to be thwarted by the Rochdale defence. Rochdale, the more vastly experienced side knew they were in a fight but managed to find tries when they needed.

The Vixens with their “never give in” attitude continued to battle and played some excellent rugby in both attack and defence. Heads and morale never dropped despite the score and the Vixens almost scored at the end with phases which started in their own half. The referee deemed the try a double movement although the Vixens thought otherwise.

The Vixens front of the match was awarded to number 6 Camille Murray and back of the match to number 10 Kirsty Weir 💪

The Vixens last match of the season is at home against Oldham next Sunday, 29th March!

🏉 Match report;

Another consecutive trip over t’moor and through t’dale took the Vixens to a high flying West Park Leeds this Sunday in what promised to be another tough match against a table topping opponent.

A Vixens side featuring a debutant, players in new positions & some carrying knocks. West Park made inroads into the Vixens defence within minutes and from a well rehearsed line out scored with a driving maul.
The Vixens defence again was rugged and determined and contested ruck after ruck with strength and passion.

The scrums were solid once more and this was mentioned in the post match recognition. West Park however seemed to find the right times to score tries. Everyone was still full of running and tried to turn defence into attack with kicks from the back.

The second half carried on in the same pattern with the on rushing West Park being tackled head on by the Vixens but West Park again still found a way through on several occasions. One of the highlights for the team and travelling support was the Vixens try mid way through the second half, a quick burst passed several defenders from number 10 Lexi Holden took the ball close to the West Park try line, the move was well executed from the centres with quick sniping and finished off by Kate Foley powering over.

The conversion couldn’t have been any closer but hit the wrong side of the crossbar and missed. The commitment to the tackles, scrums, rucks and breakdowns continued and heads were held high throughout the match despite it being a game of a mostly defensive performance. Another full 70 minutes of courage & tenacity from the Vixens.

The West Park Leeds player of the match was once again Lexi Holden and the Vixens forward of the match was Kat Clarkson both sponsored by
The Vixens back of the match was Jess Portas sponsored by .samantha

🏉 Match report;

The vixens home game against Wharfedale this Sunday was rearranged last minute due to the adverse rain in the Ribble Valley and Wharfedale were kind enough to put the match on at The Avenue.

The match against a very experienced Wharfedale side was never going to be easy and the final score suggested it was.

The Vixens held their own in the first fifteen minutes and were pragmatic in their play with solid scrums, tough tackling, forwards consistently looking to attack in pods, dangerous line breaks and surging runs from the backs. However, Wharfedale, with a home crowd and the wind behind them took control and were out of sight by halftime.

Despite the score the Vixens continued the with determination, hard work, strong tackling and good ball in hand. The introduction of the Vixens substitutes maintained the energy and commitment levels and kept Wharfedale relatively quiet for most of the 2nd half.

A couple of players picking up injuries & the Vixens unable to get a score on the board took away from what was a positive performance from the whole team.

The Wharfedale player of the match for the Vixens was Lexi Holden sponsored by
Vixens forward of the match was Ellie O’Donnell who is available for sponsorship and the Vixens back of the match was Jouisse Ball sponsored by
