As CS Lewis once said “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.”

It’s been 8yrs since my “showing days” and even back then I only really dipped my toes in with Ve but nonetheless we had cracking results and I enjoyed it!

Taking a new path and direction with some riding goals is never a bad thing and whilst I’ve had so much going on BTS I am so proud of what I’ve achieved with Bean (his actual name is Arnie btw 🤣) he took me round my first county show in pure style and I was in a class I’ve never done before! Small fish, big pond indeed but he really did look after me!

In a line up of some exquisite horses (himself included) I know I fu**ed up our performance a little bit - I was last to go and had too much time to get into my head and put an obscene amount of pressure on myself 🥴🥸
So no, I didn’t get placed but it’s an experience I won’t forget! And it certainly won’t be my last time 😜 😏 it was no reflection on him at all! Especially as he and his mum went and won all their classes and took reserve champ!! 🏅

I’m proud of the work I’ve put in, I’m over the moon with my riding and how much it’s improved again over the last month 💪🏻 😎 and I’m excited for what’s to come.

Thank you Bean Da Ween for being the calm in my storm and for showing me the ropes. And of course! It goes without saying a huge thank you to my number one wing woman and utter QUEEN .hm.x for this opportunity, pushing me to be the best version of myself and believing in me 💕

Misty Update 🩷

I know this is so long overdue! And I have toyed whether to or not but as I’ve got such wonderful support, not just because of the accident, but as a whole! I know a number of people have been asking about her… 🤍 I’ll try really hard not to waffle on too much 🙈

We are in week 2 of our in hand walking rehab.

She was assessed last month (I think that was the third one) as we just weren’t convinced that she was quite right - despite being on full rest and simply going from field to stable there was just something not sitting right with me - this was followed with a trial on Bute and whilst that alleviated one element she was still presenting lame.

So 2 weeks ago our lovely pals at LEH came back and she was assessed again 🥴 and subsequently she was actually even more lame than before so scans were done and she had the left side of her SI injected (I’ll be honest it was fascinating to watch) other scans have highlighted another issue but that’s currently parked whilst we navigate the next 4 weeks.

Emotionally I’m struggling because at the moment the waters are murky regarding what the final outcome will be but I’m keeping my focus on each day to get through this part of her rehabilitation and we will cross the next bridge when it comes.

It’s not just the injury side either; the mental toll it’s had on Miz has been drastically highlighted during our walks and all her confidence has gone so not only are we trying to strengthen her body, but also her mind too by ensuring her she can trust us to get her through this - it’s pretty heartbreaking really considering 9 weeks ago we were galloping across the downs and waving at our local passers by as we hacked out 😢

Anyway! I’m waffling and I said I wouldn’t….. she’s okay. She’s my lion hearted magical bean and I’ll do absolutely everything I can to make it all okay again.. or as close to ❤️

fantastic comments from the judge, advice and compliments I’ll hold dear for a very long time! I was absolutely over the moon with our form together at this event and felt like I understood how best to showcase us as a combination better and with more confidence! 🥰

Such a fantastic day out, the horses looked stunning and I was very very proud!
