Little update on the LoPo 💜

2 weeks post and I’ve pushed the decision to have X-Rays done.
Whilst the wound site is healing, albeit bloody slowly, it’s become quite proud and we’ve got some significant swelling and the beginnings of an edema with it tracking up into the hock joint 😢

I’ve got a ni**le that it might be the exact same outcome as last year but this could just be the overthinking and worry taking over 🙃

Another course of antibiotics and scans are on Wednesday so just another couple of days to wait - here’s hoping the tired pessimist me is wrong 🫣😂

Who else looked out at the weather and thought “let’s go for a hack!”

Well I certainly did and what a bloody good time me and Miz had 😆🩷

A lovely uphill gallop, some trot work with epic views it was enough to ignore the whole getting soaked part 😂🙈

Also had a de-clutter day at the yard and have reorganised storage rooms and my tack room, a lovely session on my favourite boy Jay 🤎 and plenty of snugs allround 🫶🏻

Not a bad Thursday at all!

Wednesday hackadoodle this morning for Miz and Jack - lovely leg stretch around the block and we managed to dodge the rain too so that was a win!

Looking forward to getting Miz back up to Kingley over the next week or so to get a little bit of chub off 🫣 amazing the bit of rain we’ve had and such a flush already! 🐖
Also aiming to get to another couple of qualifiers too (if I’ve got my timings right! 🤞🏻)

Tuesday 2nd - morning of hell 😢
Thursday 4th - dressing change, a little look at the wound site and wrapped up again 🤕
Monday 8th - dressing off, clip and clean (very very gently) of the wound site. Surprised at the size of it if I’m honest, bigger than I thought initially! We do have a nice looking clot though at the point where the artery was hit which is good. Some swelling (obviously) which we need to monitor over the next week as she did show a lot of tenderness in that area, but again it’s hardly surprising 🙃

Basically; the focus at the moment is the healing process and that we have no secondary infections and so long as Lo stays sound and comfortable we may not need to do any scans 🤞🏻 so it’s still a case of waiting and seeing, lots of meds and all the rest she needs to heal 🩷 taking each day as it comes for now as I think this is going to be a long haul ###

Soaking up some Vitamin D ☀️

Our lovely vet was back out again today for a dressing change and she’s now in a smaller dressing which should be a little more comfortable! Shall post separately with a full update 🫶🏻 was just nice to see her relaxed while the yard was quiet soaking up some warmth on her back 💜🦄
