The team had an excellent day at Goodwood circuit last week - enjoying some tuition from the fantastic Keith Padmore.

It’s not often you get to spend time being coached by Goodwood royalty - so Tony made sure to make every lap count!

With a new personal best lap-time around the famous circuit, it was clearly time very well spent.

Huge thanks to Keith for his expertise - we hope to be spending some more time on track together soon.

The Goodwood Motor Circuit Eagle Sprint was another successful day of racing for Tony in the Sparrowhawk Racing Fiesta ST.

In yet another solid performance, Tony set several good lap-times resulting in a best of 1:19 which was a solid effort.

The event drew a big entry as always, with lots of very nice cars involved in the action - and a few familiar faces too.

That event rounds off a ‘triple’ of Sprints for Tony this season; a big achievement - and with no major mishap’s or trips into the gravel either!

Next season we’ll be looking to up the ante and start competing for silverware in the Sprints at Goodwood.

There may even be an entry into the Modified Ford Series before then… Stay tuned!

Today was another excellent test session for the team at Goodwood Motor Circuit.

Blue skies. Dry track. Slick tyres. And 50+ laps completed across 6 sessions.

Both Tony & Rich achieved new personal best lap times. Thanks largely to the use of slick race tyres for the first time here at Goodwood.

Tony will be back in action here for the upcoming Eagle Sprint in a couple of months time. Further updates to come soon.

Sparrowhawk Racing will once again be competing in the Eagle Sprint this year at Goodwood Motor Circuit.

This season it will be Tony behind the wheel of our car rather than Richard, as he takes on his third competitive sprint of the season at the historic circuit.

The event organised by Brighton and Hove Motor Club takes place on Saturday 3rd August and is always a fantastic day of racing, with a mixed field of classic and modern cars competing for top spot in their class.

Sparrowhawk Racing had another successful outing on track this week - with a good day of testing at our local circuit Brands Hatch.

The day included some driver coaching for Tony, from the expert Colin Tester at Supatune Motorsport. This was a good opportunity for Tony to continue his improvement, as he chases ‘race pace’ ahead of his first circuit race weekend.

The Ford Fiesta was in perfect form as usual, with some good ‘damp/greasy’ conditions to test our tyre and suspension setup. We left the track with a very good new setup for those conditions - on the Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.

Our next time on track should be Tony’s next competitive Sprint event. More updates to come.

A superb day competing in the Regis Sprint today at Goodwood Motor Circuit

Tony was driving the team’s trusty Fiesta ST150, known affectionately as ‘PUJ’, racing in Class 4

After four sessions he managed a new Personal Best lap time of 114 seconds on his final run of the day - not bad for his second ever event!

Today was another test day on track for the team at Sparrowhawk Racing

Both Tony & Richard took to the Goodwood Motor Circuit for some much needed seat-time

Several dry sessions led to Tony setting a new Personal Best lap time!

The team will be on track again tomorrow - competing in the Regis Sprint

It was a fantastic start to the 2024 season for Sparrowhawk Racing - as Tony took to the track at Goodwood Motor Circuit for the GRRC Members Spring Sprint on Easter Monday

Putting in some very respectable times in changeable conditions Tony was running 6th in Class during the wet morning sessions, before a dry spell later in the day allowed some more powerful cars to jump ahead of him - finishing a respectable 9th place in Class D

Sparrowhawk Racing will be back at Goodwood in 2 weeks time for the 81st Members Meeting on April 14th

The Sparrowhawk Racing red Fiesta had some strong outings in the 2023 season.

Although most of our attention was focussed on racing our other car in the BRSCC Audi TT Cup, we still found time for additional races at Silverstone, Goodwood and Brands Hatch, in the rapid little Fiesta.

Picking up several class wins and also an overall P2 in the Modified Fords, this car really showed what it was capable of.

Wow! And like that. Our season of racing in the BRSCC AUDI TTCR SERIES has come to an end.

Snetterton was the setting for our final race weekend in the Audi’s and it gave us plenty to think about across the 4 days we spent in Norfolk.

Practice on the Thursday was solid rain from morning until dusk. Saturday for Quali & Race 1 was damp but dry-ish. And Sunday for Race 2 & Race 3 was a sunny fine day.

We came away from the weekend having enjoyed our last event - and with a sense of achievement having maintained a 100% finish rate in every race across the entire season.

A new PB lap time was set on the Sunday managing a 2:17, but we’ll be looking to improve on that next time at Snetterton on better tyres.

For now it’s time to reflect back on the highs & lows of the season in this single make series; it was a real challenge for us as a team stepping into a highly competitive race paddock filled with very experienced teams and drivers.

We’ve learned a lot as a team, and gained some excellent experience. The highlight of the year was probably the opening round. Lining up on the startline at our home circuit, on a packed grid of single-make racing cars for the first time.

2023 still yet holds more track action for us - with a couple more visits to Goodwood still to go!

But then in November it will be time to take a winter break and asses our options for racing next year in 2024.
