Round 3 Race report
No Limits Racing NLR - HQ
Croft Circuit
Test day (Friday) :
New track for me having never been to Croft , spent most the day just learning the track and tweaking the bikes gearing and suspension.
Wanted to get anti wheelie and traction control sorted but it didn’t want to play ball.
Best lap time of 1:33 in the last session.
Saturday Qualifying :
Went out for power cup qualifying first and did a 1:31 ,better than Friday’s times but still not upto pace .
This put me 22nd in class and 24th on the Grid.
Endurance qualifying next & I somehow managed to find some pace and get my lap time down to a 1:29.
This put us 4th in class & 18th on the grid.
Saturday Race 1 :
Cup 1000 race I got off to a good start despite the clutch issues I’d been Having,
Found abit more pace and ran the race in the top ten , best lap of 1:28 and finished 6th in class (7th overall)
3hr Endurance race :
Went out for the warm up lap and notice a fuel leak after filling my tank, decided to start the race regardless and make a pitstop on lap 1 so Neil could head out while I fixed the leak .
Neil did a 30min stint first then David went out for another 30min stint .
By then I had sorted the leak so headed out to do my 30mins.
25mins in and I crashed being too eager on the brakes (spent 3laps behind the safety car and the brakes had lost temperature)
This gave us a 15min penalty which meant we were in last place & 5laps behind .
Neil and Dave went back out to do the next hour or so while I tried to fix the bike,
Got it sorted just minutes before David came in to pit.
I went out to do the last 30mins of the race and pulled a few laps back but we still finished up in last .
As a team, doing the endurance we only wanted to get out for more track time and test the bikes out.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and had a good laugh with Neil and David regardless of positions etc .
Sunday race 2:
Starting 8th on the grid this time, had a decent race without swaping place much , best lap time of 1:29 and finish 6th in class .
Sunday Race 3 :
Started 13th on the grid after a slightly slower lap time in race 2,
Had a terrible start and then dropped back to 20th place ,
Chipped away lap after lap making few places on each , finished up 11th in class .
Overall not a bad weekend, big thanks to David Croft for supplying the BITUBO RACE SUSPENSION and also for helping me set the bike up over the weekend.
Project Powder Coating for getting my wheels looking fresh with the new colour.
DART Motorsport for supplying me with sigma clutch and helping get adjusted correctly.
Neil Stevenson for helping out with the laptop settings & tyre change 👍
Finally a thanks to my family and friends for the help behind the scenes and all my sponsors for the continued support.
