Working on the release with one of my monthly players 🔄
Over the last few months, we’ve made a big improvement to this player’s swing path, significantly reducing the leftward path that was causing issues.
However, the old release pattern was still present.
Through impact, the right forearm was getting too stuck underneath the left, which was making it difficult to release the clubface naturally. The result was a tendency to leave the face open and hit weak pushes to the right.
We worked on changing the way the forearms and clubface were working through the ball, allowing the club to release more naturally.
The result? 👇
📈 A huge increase in carry distance
🎯 A more functional clubface through impact
↪️ A slight draw instead of the previous weak push
This is a great example of why improving one part of the swing doesn’t always solve the whole problem.
The path had improved — now we needed the release to match it.
More to come with this player over the winter 👊
