Team Bath AS has some exciting news to celebrate!! Hannah, a competition squad swimmer, has been selected to represent Great Britain in artistic swimming at the World Cup in Spain.
Liam, Head of swimming at Team bath AS, said “I can't explain how happy and proud I am of Hannah and this achievement. It's been great to see Hannah grow and develop over the years and this is just a credit to all her hard work and training. So proud and now let's go smash it!”
Hannah has trained in artistic swimming since the age of six, having chosen it as her aquatic sport from an early age. At the age of 14, she earned selection to the Swim England Artistic Swimming Youth Squad following a demanding national selection process. It was during that same year that she began training at Team Bath in the development squad to further develop her swimming speed and stroke technique.
Liam and the coaching team have continued to support her progression throughout her journey from Youth to GB Junior and now GB Senior level, helping her build the speed, strength and endurance required to meet the demands of artistic swimming at the highest level.
Although adapting her stroke technique to competitive swimming was sometimes a challenge, there was one area where she immediately stood out. Much to the surprise of the coaches, swimming a whole length underwater was no problem at all – one of the many skills she had developed through artistic swimming! As her swimming has continued to develop, she has progressed through the programme and is now a member of Team Bath's Competition Squad.
In April this year, Hannah and her club team achieved outstanding success at the National Championships, winning three gold medals and securing the prestigious Redwood Trophy, awarded to the top artistic swimming club in the UK. Following these performances, she was selected to represent Great Britain at the World Cup in Spain – a fantastic achievement and an important milestone in her swimming career.
In Spain Hannah represented Team GB in the Free Team event, the team finished in 8th place against some of the world's strongest artistic swimming nations.
Hannah’s Mum says “We are incredibly proud of everything Hannah has achieved and grateful for the role Team Bath AS has played in her development. She will be representing Great Britain at further international competitions this summer and we wish her every success as she continues to compete on the international stage.”
A huge congratulations from everyone at Team Bath AS and we all really look forward to following your progress, an exciting time ahead for you Hannah, fantastic !
