We’re looking to grow our videography team at Basingstoke Town FC.

With more planned across matchdays, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, community features and longer-form storytelling, we need more volunteer support behind the camera as the club grows. This is about building on the great work already being done and giving upcoming videographers the chance to learn alongside people already helping shape the club’s content.

If you enjoy filming, want to build real football media experience and would like to help tell the wider story of BTFC, we’d love to hear from you.

We are pleased to provide an update that at yesterday’s Council Cabinet meeting, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Cabinet approved the transfer of the Winklebury Football Complex lease to the club.

The matter will now proceed to the ‘full’ Council for approval on Thursday 16th July 2026. Should this be approved, further work will be done to finalise the details with the parties involved.

Updates will be provided as this progresses.

🗣️ Community Club Members back Restructure Plans

Basingstoke Town Football Club stands at a defining moment in our 130-year history.

Following an almost unanimous vote of confidence from our membership, we are embarking on an exciting new chapter, driven by a collective ambition to push boundaries and secure a thriving, sustainable future for the football club.

The club has formally voted to restructure our operations, a move designed to unlock new avenues for sustainable growth. Pending FA and FCA approval we will be establishing a limited company and developing a hybrid organisation with the existing Community Club

This restructure is being undertaken with the long-term protection of the Community Club and the long-term future of the football club as our absolute priority. We are not just building for next season; we are building for generations to come.

The club is built on passion, history, and the unwavering support of our community. As Chairman Jack Miller puts it:

“We have created a unique opportunity for those who want to be part of something truly meaningful. We are looking for partners who don’t just see a football club, but who see the potential of an institution with deep roots and a clear, ambitious vision. There has never been a better time to get involved, to back our plans, and to play a pivotal role in the new era of Basingstoke Town FC.”

We have already held productive early conversations with several interested parties who recognise the untapped potential of our club, and we remain open to further discussions as we move forward.

We are ready to prove what this club is capable of, and as we look toward today’s Council Cabinet meeting regarding our plans for the Winklebury Football Complex, we look forward to building this exciting next chapter of Basingstoke Town FC together.

♦️ The Jack of Diamonds is back in the pack.

Some signings require weeks of negotiations, endless phone calls and enough paperwork to make your printer question its life choices. Jack Ball’s took roughly three seconds.

The defender has committed to Basingstoke Town for the 2026/27 season, extending a relationship that has quickly become one of the most important within Dan Brownlie’s squad.

Since arriving from Salisbury in July 2024, Ball has established himself as far more than a central defender. He has become one of the pillars of the dressing room, a trusted lieutenant on the pitch and the sort of character every team quietly relies upon.

Centre-halves often earn their reputations through dramatic last-ditch tackles, towering headers and uncompromising defending. Ball certainly provides all of that. But ask those around the club what makes him valuable and they’ll often start elsewhere.

His standards. His honesty. His willingness to put the group first. And, occasionally, his ability to make defending look far easier than it actually is.

As Basingstoke Town navigated the challenges of last season, Ball’s performances grew stronger with every passing month. The closing stages of the campaign arguably saw the best football of his Basingstoke career so far, producing a string of commanding displays that helped underpin the side’s strong finish.

It was little surprise when the management team voted him their Player of the Season. Recognition not simply for what he did, but for how consistently he did it. Brownlie knew retaining Ball would be a priority this summer. As it turned out, convincing him wasn’t particularly difficult.

“In typical Jack fashion, I sat down with him at the end of last season in view of talking to him about re-signing for this campaign and before I said anything he said, ‘Are we going again then?’ put out his hand and said, ‘Deal’,” said Brownlie.

“Jack is all in and I love that about him. A leader, a fighter and someone you want there with you on and off the pitch.”

Those words perhaps capture Ball better than any statistics ever could. The supporters see the committed tackles, the aerial dominance and the competitive edge every Saturday. His teammates see the person behind it all during the other six days of the week.

Both matter. Both are reasons why Basingstoke Town supporters will be delighted to see him back in blue and yellow next season. And judging by the speed of negotiations and despite a long list of interest elsewhere, he never really had any intention of being anywhere else.
