Feel-good Friday 🤩

Some more County age group honours, as five players from our U16 Girls side earn call ups to the Hampshire PDG! A huge well done to Bonnie, Chloe, Ida, Poppy and Taya for their selections - it's so good to see your efforts rewarded and we can't wait to see how you get on in Red and Blue! 💙❤️

A further eight players from our U16 Girls selected for the Berkshire PDG, making it a round total of 13 girls from one age group earning county honours. Well done girls, you're doing the club proud 👏

INTRODUCING OUR HAMPSHIRE U16 GIRLS PDG SQUAD FOR 2026!

We are delighted to celebrate the players selected for the Hampshire RFU U16 Girls Player Development Group (PDG) for 2026.

Following fantastic levels of interest and some highly competitive selection sessions, these players have earned their place in the squad and the opportunity to continue their development as part of the England Rugby Player Development Group.

The talent, enthusiasm and commitment shown throughout the selection process was outstanding, reflecting the continued strength and growth of girls' rugby across Hampshire.

This is further highlighted by the 13 Hampshire players selected for this year's U18 PDG and five players who are part of the England Women's U18 squad! A fantastic reflection of the talent emerging across the county and the opportunities available through the pathway.

A huge congratulations to every player selected.

'Stoke Represent! 👊

More good news from our Age Group set up, as seven of our U15 Boys squad were involved in games and trials with Bath Rugby's Player Development Group!

Harry, Ed and Charlie all earned their first appearance in Bath colours in an inter-region PDG friendly at Newbury RFC on Tuesday morning, while Alex, Aidan, Arthur and Oscar all had their second PDG trials later in the afternoon.

The standard of rugby on show was superb, with the Basingstoke boys more than holding their own. Above all else, we're incredibly proud of the boys already part of the PDG for sticking around for their club mates involved in the trial - awesome rugby values and it's great to see such strong club pride!

Good work boys - fingers crossed for good news! 💙💛

A huge well done to our current Colts Captain, Zack, who has been named in this year's Hampshire U18 Boys squad! A hard-hitting ho**er with an impressive all-round skill set, Zack has led his boys with distinction the last two years, and his selection is testament to the work he has put in on the training paddock 👊

He's far from the only 'Stoke player to have earned County selection - watch this space... 👀💙💛

There's no place like home 🥰

Out with the old, in with the new - our clubhouse has had an uplift! We are delighted to have received some new seating in our Club Bar and Committee Room from our friends at Mindset Sport and Community Kit Bag, local charities with whom we share an established history.

Mindset Sport is a charity recognising the importance of Mental Health in sport, with several club players playing for their Sevens and Touch sides over the Summer months, while The Community Kit Bag gives your used kit a second home - we hold a permanent donation point for kit to be donated at the club 🎗️

A huge thank you goes to Mindset Sport, Community Kit Bag and Consolidated Services, whose generosity in getting the furniture to the club was hugely appreciated.

Come on down to the club and try the new seats out for yourself! 💙💛

With half term and inclement weather reaping havoc across our Age Group rugby this weekend, it was our Under 13s who took centre stage! The boys hosted Romsey in the cage yesterday morning, giving the team the experience of playing in front of the stand for the first time.

The team loved the experience, bringing their A game and combining exciting, attacking rugby with strong, resilient defence.

One Club 💙💛

This is Spencer! Spencer - better known as Mullet Man - is a member of our Under 11s, and has become an increasingly popular member at the club.

Not only does he put in maximum effort for his own team at training sessions and festivals, he is also pitch-side every weekend, giving our senior sides his loudest support and being the first to offer any help putting things away at the end of matches.

His volunteering has gone above and beyond in recent weeks, running as a touch judge for our Men's and Women's sides, including braving up in awful conditions for our Men's 1st XV fixture yesterday afternoon.

His Under 11 teammates Nicholas and Finn have also gotten stuck in this season, acting as water boys for our senior sides during various fixtures this season!

To see our own youth players take such pride in being part of the club is genuinely special to see. Thank you, boys (and your tireless parents!) - it is so appreciated 🫶
