Congratulations to our under 6300 team who came first in the DCCA Taem Quickplay as well as Chris who was second equal in the morning individual competition and Sam who won the u1900 prize.

2nd Barnstaple Rapidplay

The event was held at Alverdiscott Village Hall on 11th October.
Prize winners were as follows:
1st Prize - won by Harvey Cooper with 5/6
2nd/3rd Prizes - shared by Jon Underwood, Steve Homer, Chris Gant and Adam Clarke who all scored 4.5/6
U1800 Grading prize: George Lekoudis who scored 4/6
U1600 Grading prize: shared by Shreyas Pasupulety and John Constable who scored 3/6

Last night we had IM Jack Rudd give us a simul display where he scored 13 wins from 13 games. Thanks for the games Jack and for all those who struggled hard to defeat him.

The British Chess Championships are now underway in Liverpool with two Barnstaple Players involved, Jack in the Championships and Chris in the over 65 Championships.
