Just a reminder that the 3rd Barnstaple RapidPlay Chess Congress is rapidly approaching.

It's a 6 round Swiss tournament, 25 minutes + 10 second increment for all moves

The congress is an ECF rapidplay rated event.

Free parking is available at the venue (the car park can hold in the region of 50 cars).

Tomorrow is the day! ♟️

After weeks of planning, emails, meetings, certificates, trophies, risk assessments and copious cups of coffee, the inaugural North Devon Schools Chess Championship is finally here.

Today was all about transforming Barnstaple Pannier Market into a tournament venue. Tomorrow we’ll welcome young players from schools and the home education community from across North Devon.

We’re incredibly proud of how hard Gareth, one of our supervisors, has worked to bring it all together, and hope this is the first of many championships to come.

Wish all the players the very best of luck, and most importantly, enjoy the day! ♟️🏆

Congratulations to our under 6300 team who came first in the DCCA Taem Quickplay as well as Chris who was second equal in the morning individual competition and Sam who won the u1900 prize.
