What a great day at the Malmesbury Open Air Boxing Show!

We travelled with one boxer, Callum, who was matched against the very talented Jacob from Malmesbury.

This was Jacob’s final bout of his competitive season, and what a warrior he is. He never ducks anyone and is always involved in exciting, competitive contests.

Callum has been working hard in the gym all week, focusing on new areas of his boxing as he stepped up in weight.

In the first round, Callum’s speed and accuracy were clear to see, although Jacob finished the round strongly. As the bout progressed, Callum began to find his rhythm, moving well, catching Jacob on the way in, and showing slick movement to avoid Jacob’s powerful right hand.

The final round was a cagey affair, with both boxers showcasing their skills in a closely contested finish.

After three competitive rounds, Callum took the victory on points.

As a club, we would like to thank Jacob for everything he has done for boxing in the South West, and especially for everything he has done for our club by stepping in at short notice on many occasions to help save our shows.

We wish him all the very best and hope to see him around the boxing scene next season, whatever he decides to do. 👏🥊

It was a great pleasure to present Kai with his London belt this evening.

An outstanding achievement, showing tremendous heart, determination, and attitude over two days of competition to become champion in the Under 63.5kg weight class.

A massive thank you to Carl Carl's boxing stable plympton for organising and collecting the belt for us.

Kai would also like to thank his sponsors for supporting his journey, especially Sam at Golding Construction, whose support helped fund the trip. Without that backing, this opportunity would not have been possible.

This Weekend we head to the
International Belt Tournament 🥊

We're loading up the mini bus with the boxers, family and friends and heading over to Ware for the International Belt Tournament.

Representing the club and flying the famous Barnstaple flag for the team are:

We originally entered 12 boxers, but after a few pullouts, we are now heading over with 9 boxers.

Win, lose, or draw, one thing is guaranteed, every boxer will step through those ropes ready to give absolutely everything.

The dedication they've shown in training has been incredible, and we're proud of each and every one of them. They’ve put in the hard work ready for the weekend.

Boxing isn't just about belts and trophies, it's about courage.
It's about having the confidence to step into the ring when everyone is watching and finding out what you're made of.

Be fearless, trust your training, back yourselves, and enjoy every second. Remember..... champions aren't made on fight night, they're made in all those sessions when nobody is watching.

Good luck, lads. Make memories, make us proud, and if possible, try not to give the coaches too many heart attacks! 😂
