Your body is constantly giving you information
One of the things I find fascinating about HRV is that it gives us another way of looking at how the body is responding.
HRV stands for heart rate variability.
In simple terms, it looks at variations in the time between heartbeats.
It's not simply a score of whether you're “healthy” or “unhealthy”.
But it can provide useful information about how your body is responding to stress and recovery.
And that's where I became particularly interested.
Instead of simply asking:
"How much can you train?"
I started asking:
“How well are you recovering from what you're already doing?”
That question can completely change the way you approach exercise and wellbeing.
It's one of the principles behind Remedy.
