Huge thank you to our players who once again gave up their morning to support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal - and a big thank you to everyone who bought poppies and pins.

As a club we are so proud that our young people show their pride and support for Axbridge on and off the pitch. 👏

We are often contacted by parents asking if there is a team or practice sessions their child could join at Axbridge Saxons - which we love. Unfortunately though we often have to say no because we don’t have volunteer coaches for every age group. So…

WE NEED YOU…

Coaching youth football is massively rewarding, only takes a few hours a week and you need no previous experience. We’ll support you with FA approved training, DBS checks and a network of supportive coaches to help you along the way. We are particularly keen to find volunteers to run the younger ages groups - so if you have a child who is keen to start playing this would be ideal for you.

At Saxons we are an inclusive club with a focus on making sport accessible and fun for kids. We try to keep our subs as low as possible - but that does mean we rely on the generosity of sponsors to buy kit and equipment. 🔴⚫️SAXONS SCORES 🔴⚫️

The season is back up and running for most of our teams and a mixed set of results for the Saxons on the road.

Playing for the first time in the U18s league our boys got off to a blinder with goals from Jaiden Cainey, Aidan Parsons and a brace for Gavin Parsons (we need goal scoring GIFS for our socials!). Meanwhile a slower start for our U15s and U13s.

Swiss Valley 3 - 4 Saxons U18s
Huish 3 - 0 Saxons U15 Girls
Yatton 6 - 2 Saxons U13.

It’s all home games next Saturday, so a cracking weekend of football on The Furlong coming up.

🔴⚫️ AXBRIDGE SAXONS ON TOUR ⚫️🔴

To celebrate the end of the 24/25 season, their last one playing youth football for this age group, Axbridge Saxons U16's are going on tour for 3 days to France.

The tour will culminate with a game against French side En Avant Saint Renan FC, who have been very welcoming in helping to arrange the game, helping with accommodation and also generously putting on a BBQ after the match for everyone involved.

This amazing group of players have been excellent representatives for the club for this season as well as all the previous seasons they have played for Saxons. The players and their parents have helped fund raise towards the cost of the, but we couldn't have done It without the support of some local businesses, Probo Medical, Abbas Marquees, Sunlit Solar, The Oakhouse and also for providing the tour shirts.

Good luck to all the players, coaches and parents, enjoy the trip .

The majority of the players will continue to play for Saxons and we are looking to new players to join them playing in the Bristol U18 Football combination league on Sunday afternoons nest season. If any players are interested on joining please make contact via our page .

Big thanks to everyone who came to our Awards Event this afternoon in the blazing sun.

Great to see all our young people, coaches and supporters get recognised for their efforts in representing Axbridge on and off the football pitch.

Particular thanks to the Royal British Legion who presented our players with a trophy for their work selling poppies and supporting Remembrance Day.

Although we like winning! The awards are as much about celebrating Axbridge’s largest social club, supporting hundreds of kids to develop through sport. We couldn’t keep the club running without an army of volunteers, sponsors and supporters. Thank you 🙏

🔴⚫️ SAXONS UPDATE⚫️🔴

It was an absolute honour for the Saxons to be recognised alongside our friends at Utd in the Civic Awards at yesterday’s service. Thanks so much to the council and the town 🙏 - the only question now is how we’ll find space for the award in the trophy cabinet!

It was a mixed bag of results on the pitch - the U12s continued their promotion pushing form with a win against the Pumas. The U16s also sweeped the points at Nailsea. Meanwhile the U14 Girls narrowly missed out at home against tough opposition and the U14 Boys couldn’t make an early 2 goal league stick.
