Coffin Lane Campaign

Coffin Lane Campaign We are campaigning for a safe footpath and cycle route along the A371 between Axbridge and Compton Bishop.

The A371 is a very busy road that carries many large lorries as well as a high volume of cars. There is no safe footpath or cycle route for local people to use between Compton Bishop and Axbridge. We are campaigning to have safe access created for the benefit of all. Our campaign is supported by Compton Bishop Parish Council, Axbridge Town Council, Sustrans, The Ramblers' Association and The Mendip Society.

King John's knees

27/09/2016

We had a great time at the Axbridge Blackberry Carnival on Saturday. King John behaved beautifully despite having been dead for several hundred years. He was attended by loyal courtiers Richard and Mike who guided him along the route without mishap. David's bier, The Bike That Refused to Die attracted lots of interest and big thanks go to him and Noellvie for all their hard work. Bike wranglers Sandy and John provided the wheeled contingent and some small children. Many thanks to all who came along to support us.
