From his roots on Oʻahu’s North Shore to becoming a two-time Hawaiʻi state MMA champion, NCAA Division III wrestler, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, and UFC veteran, Dan has built a career defined by grit, discipline, courage, and aloha. He earned his UFC opportunity through Dana White’s Contender Series and went on to establish himself among the world’s elite, collecting 11 UFC victories and multiple Performance of the Night bonuses while competing against some of the toughest names in the sport.
But Dan’s impact is bigger than a record. He has helped carry forward Hawaiʻi’s proud fighting tradition and has also helped younger Hawaiʻi fighters find opportunities on the mainland. UFC previously highlighted how Ige helped fellow Hawaiian fighter Punahele Soriano make the move that ultimately helped lead him to the UFC.
