CORK CITY MARATHON 2026
Yesterday, the annual Cork City Marathon rolled through the streets of the Rebel Capital. We had a super team of athletes and pacers from St Senans AC. John Walsh, Jo Rockett and Joanne Quinn were part of the official pacing team for the event. Great job guys!
Congratulations to the Monahan Family who were out in force, together with Orla Cooper, Patsy Foskin, Caroline OConnor, Christina OShea and Sinéad Madden who completed the half marathon in fine style. Great job also by Evelyn Curry in the 10k event.
A very special mention must also go to Mary Freyne who smashed her 4 hour target, finishing in 3.53. Also Liz Jolly has been the Sunday morning running coordinator for the club and all her dedicated training paid off in spades yesterday with a 3rd place finish in her age category with a super time of 4.06.

2 medals today in Tullamore 🎉🎉
Millie Walsh secured 3rd place in the U13 600m
And Katie Kelly and her Kilkenny team mates secured gold in the U11 relay.
Also competing today was Huw Morgan who qualified out of his heat for the U12 600m where he came 5th.
Millie Walsh also competed today in the 60m sprint and high jump.
We also had Katie Kelly and Sienna Harrison compete in the U11 pairs.
Well done to everyone who competed today.

Gold for Tadhg!! Well done to St Senans Racewalker Tadhg O’Callahan who won gold this evening in the Schools All Ireland representing Waterpark College. A huge well done to Tadhg and well deserved 🥇

Edit: I believe Anna actually came 2nd in her category 🫢 so even more super 😂We wanted to put a shout out to the fabulous Anna DeCourcy our own St Senans High Jump coach who competed in the Masters Women’s High Jump last Saturday in Carlow and came 2nd 🥈Super work Anna and great to have you on the team 🥰

We had a terrific evening at the Inter School Sports last night with St Senans clinching the overall school prize for the 5th year in a row!! There was great competition from all schools however with lots of worthy winners! We hope to see many of you joining us for a taster session over the coming months or joining our camp on the first week of holidays! So get on your running shoes and come down to The Sports Complex in Kilmacow Monday evening.
Start time is 6.00pm
All entries at registration tent.
All proceeds from this year's event being donated to The Jack and Jill Foundation.

A great day of activity and medals for our St Senans athletes today!! Firstly well done to Myra and Emma who travelled to Carlow this evening for the live Track and Field Event. Myra got 2nd in u11 turbo javelin and Emma got 2nd place in her Racewalking event. Ellie Mae was also competing today at the schools Leinster competition in Tullamore representing her school, St Mary’s The Mercy, New Ross. Ellie Mae came in first place finishing well ahead of the pack. Next up will be All Irelands next week. Well done all on a great days work! 🎉🤩

100 MARATHON MAN

John Walsh reached a huge running milestone this weekend, clocking his 100th marathon! Fantastic achievement John!

We’d especially like to thank John also for all his mentoring, encouragement and support to club members. No matter what your level of running experience, John is a great support to so many at the club.
