Today we would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Mayor Jones as she announces her retirement from office. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to our community have made a lasting impact on Westport and the people within it.

Mayor Jones was instrumental in helping bring the Rideaus back to Westport, and for that we are incredibly thankful. Her support was felt not only in the office, but also in the stands cheering alongside our community. She believed in what the team could bring to the town, and her encouragement helped make it possible.

On behalf of the Westport Rideaus organization, thank you for everything you have done for our community and our team. We wish you all the best as you move into this next chapter — enjoying your hobbies, relaxing, and spending well-deserved time doing the things you love.

You will always be a valued part of the Rideaus family.

Congratulations to Brockville’s Sports Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Seed!

Jeff’s accomplishments in fastball are nothing short of outstanding. A multi–all-star and multiple medal-winning player for Team Canada, Jeff represented Canada with excellence at the Canadian Championships, World Championships, and Pan-Am Games.

Known as a dominant hitter, Jeff played a key role in Canada’s historic gold medal victory over the United States at the 2003 Pan-Am Games. He was also named an ISC First Team All-World Utility Player, further highlighting his impact and versatility at the highest level of the sport.

In addition to his playing career, Jeff continues to give back to the game as an assistant coach with the Westport Rideaus, helping develop the next generation of players. He was also huge in bringing ball back to Westport.

A well-deserved honour recognizing an exceptional athlete, coach, and ambassador for the sport of fastball. Congratulations, Jeff!
