The latest C4 sprint racing canoe was delivered to Carleton Place Canoe Club this week. Built by John Hendren (John's Little Boat Shop) it has some clever new advances to the floorboard system. John carries on the tradition of building C4 and C15 sprint racing canoes started by Ted in 1979 when he took the reins from Walter Walker. Walter built sprint canoes for Peterborough Canoe Company and after Peterborough went out of business Walter rescued the molds from the dump and continued to build at Peel Marine....eventually building them in his small basement in his house in Lakefield. The basement was so small he could only work on one side at a time!
Thank you John for doing such a great job and to the many sprint clubs and athletes who proudly paddle in this national sport.
