Tear out is complete as of Friday. Next up is installing the new HVAC. When I have timing on that I'll post. Then it's just drywall primer and paint. Hoping for early Sept.

Gym update: Drywall is all down for ceilings and walls. Lights and HVAC next. Getting all new Heating and air conditioning

At long last the restorations have begun! All the drywall, lighting and HVAC ducts are being replaced. Rip out has started. Hopefully thois goes quicker than the inspection and quotes part! 💪

Westport Fitness Fire: So this is probably how it started. This plastic fan shorted and melted. It caught fire and unfortunately was on a rubber floor. One of the flooring tiles caught fire and caused the excessive smoke.

Due to a quick response by Jett, a Westport Fitness member, and a super fast response from the Rideau Lakes Fire Dept the fire didn't get a chance to spread.

Unfortunately the smoke and soot damage is extensive. The clean up process will be thorough but it will take some time.

We are targeting August 1 for reopening.

Hey everyone,

I am reaching out to share some tough news. We had a fire at the gym earlier today. While the most important thing is that nobody was hurt, the facility has sustained significant smoke damage and we cannot reopen the doors just yet.

We are currently working to assess the damage and map out a cleanup plan. In the meantime, I want to make sure your membership is protected.

Here is exactly how we are handling things moving forward:

Payments Paused: All automatic billing cycles through Kinect Payments are being paused immediately. You will not be charged while our doors are closed.

Time Credited Back: Every single day that we are closed will be automatically credited back to your membership profile. You will get full value for the time you have already paid for once we are back online.

Reopening Timeline: I will send out updates as soon as we have concrete answers on the restoration progress.

Finally added the Matrix multipress. This is a great machine for shoulder press, incline press and chest press. The three adjustments available to custom fit are the weight stack, the seat height, and the angle of the press arm.

It is pretty straightforward but look at the Matrix website and search multipress for some quick video how to.

The treadmills will be next!

Coming soon to Westport Fitness is the Matrix multipress machine. This machine replaces the Magnum chest press with three in one. You can do shoulder presses incline bench presses and chest presses on the new machine. It will arrive later this week.

I apologize for screwing up the timing slightly the Magnum chest press left on Sunday ☹️

Added an Octane Elliptical last week. 3 new machines to help with the winter busy-ness. Another treadmill is very soon.

There will be a price increase in April. Not for existing members though.
