You’re standing at the Finlayson Arm start line. It’s dark. Headlamp is on. Months of training are behind you and a whole lot of trail is ahead.

What’s going through your head in those final few minutes before the race starts? 👀

Are you calm? Nervous? Questioning every decision that brought you here? Already thinking about the finish line?

We want to hear it. 👇

Bonus points if you’ve raced Finny before and give us the actual thought that went through your head. 😂

Start the countdown. ONE WEEK!

Ready for one of the most challenging trail running experiences on Canada’s West Coast? ⛰️

Finlayson Arm begins at Goldstream Provincial Park and takes runners through some of Vancouver Island’s most incredible terrain... from winding single track and double track to rugged coastal mountain trails surrounded by Arbutus trees and old-growth forest.

But don’t let the views fool you. Finny comes with some serious climbing.

Depending on your distance, you’ll take on sections of Mt. Finlayson, Mt. Work, McKenzie Bight and Jocelyn Hill, with plenty of technical terrain and elevation along the way. You’ll also experience some pretty incredible rewards for the effort, including sweeping mountain and coastal views and Cascade Creek Waterfall as you climb out of McKenzie Bight.

With the 28K, 50K, 50 Mile and The Double to choose from, there’s more than one way to experience Finny... but none of them are easy.

We’re 10 days OUT!

Who’s been putting in the elevation this summer? 👀⛰️

Races wouldn’t be the same without our volunteers. 🫶

They’re the people filling your bottles, keeping aid stations stocked, pointing you in the right direction, cheering when you need it most, and bringing the energy that makes race day feel like race day.

And with Finlayson Arm coming up September 12–13, we’re still looking for volunteers to join the crew!

If running Finny isn’t in the cards this year but you still want to be part of the weekend, volunteering is one of the best ways to experience it. Come spend some time on the trails, support the runners, meet some pretty great humans, and help us bring another Finny weekend to life. ⛰️

Interested in helping out? Head to our website to sign up as a volunteer, we’d love to have you out there.

And to every volunteer who has given their time to a Coastline race: thank you. We truly couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

There’s nothing quite like sunrise on the trails. 🌅⛰️

Early mornings are part of the Finlayson Arm experience... headlamps on, cool morning air, and watching the trails slowly light up as the sun comes over Vancouver Island.

Views like these are a pretty good reminder to look up every once in a while and take in where your legs have taken you.

Make sure to tag us in your race-day prep and your photos from out on course... we want to see Finny through your eyes. 📸

“How hard can it be?” 😌 Famous last words before Finlayson Arm.

A little trail race… with technical terrain, relentless climbs, big descents, and depending on your distance, a whole lot of time spent wondering which friend convinced you this was a good idea. 😂

Finny is tough. That’s the point.

Whether you’re taking on the 28K, 50K, 50 Miler, or going all in on the Double, this is one of those race weekends you earn from start line to finish line.

We’re under one month out. Who did you convince to join you this year? Tag them below. 👇

Listen to your body… unless you signed up for the Finlayson Arm 50K, 50 Miler, or the Double. 😂

Because at some point out there, your legs are probably going to have a few things to say.

Finlayson Arm is built to challenge you... steep climbs, technical terrain, big elevation, and the kind of kilometres that make you question why you thought this was a good idea in the first place.

But then you hit the next view, the next aid station, or another runner grinding it out beside you… and somehow, we’re having fun again.

28K. 50K. 50 Miler. Or the Double.
Which one are you taking on this September? ⛰️

Ultra Trail running: cheaper than therapy? We’re not making any promises… but spending a few hours in the mountains certainly doesn’t hurt. 😂

Finlayson Arm isn’t your average trail race. Known for its technical terrain, steep climbs, big descents, and rugged Vancouver Island trails, this is a weekend that will test your legs, your endurance, and probably your emotions too.

With multiple distances taking runners through the trails surrounding Finlayson Arm, there’s a challenge waiting whether you’re stepping up to a new distance or returning to take on Finny all over again.

We’re officially under one month out, which means these next few weeks are all about putting in those final training miles, dialing in your gear and nutrition, and getting ready for race weekend. ⛰️

That counts for a whole lot out here.

We’re officially under one month out from Finlayson Arm, and the countdown is on. ⛰️
