Final round is underway at the 19th Annual GPO.

We are up to 163 players in 4 sections. They represent 6 provinces and belong to 8 different FIDE countries/federations. Titled players include: 3 IMs, 3 FMs, 4 NMs, 2 CMs, and there is even an Arena FM among the players.

19th Annual Grand Pacific Open Chess Tournament April 3 - 6 2026 in Victoria BC

Entry Fee , $105 registered and paid on or before Feb. 20, $115  registered and paid  on or before March 30.  NO ONSITE REGISTRATION.     You may play up a section up to 200 rating points above your rating.  Add $30 if playing up and your  current rating  is within 100 points of the section...

148 players registered for the 18th Annual GPO! We are expecting 180-200 this year. The room block of standard rooms at the Hotel Grand Pacific is now full for the weekend. Suites and Deluxe rooms may still be available if you book soon! And other hotels are in the area if you miss out on the Hotel Grand Pacific. We are looking forward to welcoming past and new people to this great event in the heart of Victoria. ** An Update from the Hotel Grand Pacific ** "Due to unforeseen circumstances issues, our pool maintenance timeline has been extended. Please be advised that our swimming pool, jetted tub, sauna, and steam room is closed, with an anticipated open date of Friday, April 5th, 2024. The strength, cardio, squash and fitness classes will remain open for your enjoyment. During this time, we have made arrangements for our guests to utilize the swimming pool at the Crystal Pool facility with a voucher that is provided by the hotel.
