Meet Toshi Shibata, our September Member of the Month! From powerlifting milestones to bringing his family along through Gym Kids, Toshi's dedication and community spirit truly shine.

"Before stumbling upon Forge I had gone to numerous other "chain" gyms. While they all had equipment, adequate training space, and enough weights, the one thing they lacked was a sense of community. Thanks to Forge and its community, I discovered my love for powerlifting. The community at Forge is supportive, encouraging, and inclusive. When work or life becomes stressful, I know I can throw some weights around at 4pm at the gym.
Forge also brought the opportunity for my family to barbell train as well, thanks to Jose and the Gym Kids program, - a one of a kind program.
Always wanting to give back to the community, don't be afraid to come say hi and ask for a spot—just don't ask me for the power bar or kilo plates :-)"

Huge shoutout to Rajan Gandhi, our Forge Victoria Member of the Month for August 2026! Thanks for bringing your infectious energy and dedication to our gym community every single day.

“In 2023, Jason Cridge did something he and Locky probably regret: he introduced me to Forge. What started as "just try" turned into a full-blown addiction, and now they can't get rid of me. Thanks, Jason!

I started training with Locky and his style is less "personal training" and more "pain and suffering with a smile." Locky doesn't do easy days, I don't think he knows what the word "rest" means, but my lack of brain cells keeps me coming back. Within the first year Locky challenged Jason and I to a fitness competition and this fueled our competitive natures and that meant I had to train more days a week than Jason, so I started training with Danzel. Both of them pushed me and I won!!

Over the past year, I have started showing up more, getting to know more of the trainers and gym rats and it is a community to me. Thanks, Jason and the entire Forge community for the healthy addiction!!”

Big shoutout to our July Member of the Month, Kazuma Sakakibara! Whether he’s training on our specialty gear or bringing good vibes to the floor, we love having Kaz in the gym. Check out his story:

“I joined Forge in 2019 after walking by one night and spotting a safety squat bar through the window; something I'd been looking for due to a surgery having limited my shoulder mobility. I've been hooked ever since!

Lifting things up and putting them down has been a hobby of mine for 20 years now, and in that time I've been to more gyms than I can count (which to be fair isn't that high).

There are many things I love about this place. The tidiness, the bookable spaces, the sea of squat racks, and especially the specialty equipment. Despite a shoulder surgery, a couple disc injuries and a bout of sciatica, the plethora of unique equipment that Forge carries has allowed me to continue lifting and rehabbing through it all.
But most of all, as everyone else has said, Forge has an incredible sense of community. I've never been that chatty at the gym, but I always appreciate the friendly smiles and upbeat chatter going on around me. I've met some great people here, and it makes it that much easier to get myself to the gym on the days where motivation is low.

I am honoured to receive this award and look forward to putting "Forge MOM" on my resume”

Member of the Month: Jay Molnar! 🌟

We are so proud to announce Jay as our Forge Member of the Month! thank you for showing us how Forge is an empowering, inclusive, and non-judgmental space. You’ve changed your life for the better, and we are so honoured to be a part of it.

“What an honour to be chosen as member of the month!
My Forge journey started a few years ago when I was encouraged by my husband Quinn to check it out. I finally gained the confidence to be strong and take up space.
I think some find the gym to be an intimidating space but when I walk through Forge’s doors it’s like coming home. I’m inspired everyday by all the strong women that workout here, and also appreciate how inclusive and non judgemental the space is. Going to Forge has changed my life for the better & has been a very empowering environment that I would recommend to anyone.
Ps - Thank you for the hip thrust machine!” - Jay
