We make a lot of modifications to her training, to ensure she does not aggravate her injuries - but it has not stopped her from getting significantly stronger!!! As many of you know, my brother Shaun’s girlfriend, Katy, has ALS.  (For reference, this is what Stephen Hawking had). She is only in her late 30’s.  It is all truly devastating.  

My family and I are taking part in the Walk to End ALS In London Ontario this June.  If you feel compelled to donate to our team – Katy’s Klompers for ALS Canada - it would be greatly appreciated.  You can also show your support by learning more about ALS, taking part in the Toronto walk, or keeping Shaun and Katy in your thoughts and prayers.  ALS Canada has offered so much support to Shaun and Katy, they are an exceptional organization!

Bone Marrow is so healthy and so crazy! My friend and I went to this amazing new restaurant called VBow Pho Mi & More. I tried one of their beef soups with bone marrow - SO DELICIOUS!!! Check out this new Vietnamese Restaurant for the taste, for the ambiance, and for good health! Shoutout to the owners Vivian and Anthony - so lovely!!! And to my lovely clients who recommended it :)

80’s Workouts: too much cardio, not enough strength training. Too much hairspray, not enough eye make-up. ;) Cardio is great for your heart, mood stabilizing, and endurance - but it’s not enough alone. We need strength training to build muscle. Not bulk up … rather lean muscle mass to help us live independently longer and prevent osteoporosis, in a way that cardio just can’t do. So, don’t be an 80’s baby - build a stronger heart and body with BOTH cardio and strength training!

Be the adult. Would you rather nap, than workout? Would you rather eat the whole bag of chips or cake instead of a portion? Of course you would, me too!!! In those moments, you have to be the adult. You’re not lacking motivation, you’re not lacking will power. Sleep and cake is simply way better! But they are a temporary sense of satisfaction. Overall, you will feel so much better when you “be the adult” and do the small realistic habits you set out for yourself (80% of the time). So - be the adult today! Get off your phone, and do something positive towards your health and wellness! But of course, please “like” this post before you go - thanks!
