⚾️ HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT COACHING BASEBALL? ⚾️
Maybe you love the game but have never coached before. Maybe you’d like to get involved but aren’t sure where to start.
This is your opportunity. ❤️⚾️
SMBA is fully reliant on volunteer coaches to make our programs possible, and as we look ahead to the 2027 season, we are in a BIG need of coaches — especially for our Community teams.
And here’s the most important part:
You do NOT need previous coaching experience.
You do NOT need to have a child in our program.
If you love baseball, enjoy working with kids and want to be part of the Reds community, we will help you learn.
We want our coaches to feel supported and confident stepping onto the field, which is why SMBA provides opportunities to start learning before the season even begins:
⚾️ Winter Camp – October through January
Join us Sunday and/or Wednesday evenings and work alongside our experienced SMBA coaches. This is a fantastic way to get hands-on coaching experience, learn drills, ask questions and build confidence in a low-pressure environment.
⚾️ In-Person Coach Training – April through June
Continue developing your coaching skills through training sessions, with costs covered by SMBA.
⚾️ Baseball Canada & NCCP Online Training
Complete coaching modules through Baseball Canada and the National Coaching Certification Program — also covered by SMBA.
Our goal is to give you the training, resources and support you need so that when the 2027 season arrives, you feel ready to coach your own team.
Our program cannot happen without volunteers stepping forward. Our kids need coaches, and we need YOU to help us continue building baseball in Strathmore.
So if you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to coach, but I wouldn’t know where to start…”
Start with us this winter. We’ll help you with the rest.
