What a great supporter during my run yesterday! She was enjoying her snack but still looked up to cheer me on!

One of the best things about exercising outdoors is that you never know what you'll see along the way. Fresh air, sunshine, nature, and a change of scenery can make movement feel less like a workout and more like an adventure

Mindful eating is a technique used to help people become aware of their hunger and fullness cues.
The purpose is to gain control over eating habits and to reduce mindless snacking.

Benefits include:
- weight management
- stress reduction
- improved digestion
- reduced binging or overeating
- increased satisfaction with food
- healthier food choices

Practice mindful eating:
- Turn off all distractions, including phone, computer, and TV.
- Start with a small portion on your plate.
- Slow down, take small bites, and chew the foods thoroughly.
- Enjoy the flavors, textures, scents, and appearance of the foods you are eating.
- Be aware of how your body feels before, during, and after you eat.
- Learn your body's cues by rating your hunger and satisfaction on the Hunger-Fullness Scale of 1-10. Aim to stay between 3-7.

How to Enjoy Healthier Foods and Avoid Fast Food Traps

The best way to stay on track with your nutrition when you're on the go is to plan ahead. Bringing prepared meals or healthy snacks with you can save you from making last-minute food choices.

But let's be realistic...life doesn't always go according to plan.

Maybe you had to leave unexpectedly. Maybe your meal prep wasn't ready. Maybe you were out much longer than expected. Now you're hungry, tired, and the nearest drive-thru is calling your name.

So what do you do?

1 - First, remember your WHY.

Why do you want to live a healthier lifestyle?

Whether it's having more energy, reducing pain, managing your weight, improving your health, being there for your family, or simply feeling better in your own body, your "why" matters. When your reason is meaningful, it becomes easier to make choices that move you toward your goals rather than away from them.

2 - Next, change your mindset before you're hungry.

Our thoughts influence our cravings.

If you're thinking about burgers, fries, and pop, that's what you'll want. But if you've already decided that a grilled chicken wrap, salad, or protein bowl is a great option, you're much more likely to choose it.

Healthy eating starts long before you place your order.

3 - Recognize the habit.

Pulling into the same fast-food drive-thru and ordering the same meal is often a habit, not a necessity.

The good news? Habits can be changed.

Here's how:
• Make a list of restaurants that offer healthier options.
• Identify meals from each restaurant that you genuinely enjoy.
• Save menus and online ordering links on your phone for easy access.
• Keep a note in your phone with your go-to healthy choices so you don't have to decide when you're already hungry.
• Remind yourself that eating well is a choice you're making because you value your health, not because you "have to."

Healthy eating on the road is absolutely possible.

A little planning, a little mindset work, and a few new habits can make a huge difference over time.

Today I am celebrating 16 YEARS working with clients online and at their location!! 24 YEARS as a personal trainer! 🎉

What a blessing and an honor it is to share my love and passion for healthy living! It brings me so much joy to empower others and to be part of the journey of improving their quality of life through healthy eating and active living! 🙏

The highlight of my weeks is receiving messages from clients when they hit certain milestones, such as:
- participating in events and active play with their children
- being able to get down to the floor and easily get back up again
- unconciously do something they couldn't previously do and suddenly realize that they now can
- dance and enjoy activities they couldn't previously do because their muscles were too weak
- move through depressed emotions and feel confident enough to go outside their homes again

To my clients...you mean the world to me. Your goals are my goals. I thank each of you for trusting me. I am blessed to know you and to be part of your journey. ❤️

I send a special thank you to each of you who don't work with me, however, trust me enough to share what I do with those you care about. 💕
