"I haven't changed my eating. I exercise. But I keep gaining weight."
This is one of the most common things I hear from women in midlife.
And honestly, I understand the confusion.
From your perspective, nothing has changed.
You're eating the way you've always eaten.
You're exercising the way you've always exercised.
But here's the reality...
Your body is changing.
The menopause transition is a natural biological shift. Your body at 50 is not the same body it was at 30 or even 40.
What worked before may not work now.
And while many women blame menopause itself, menopause isn't the problem.
The real challenge is expecting the same actions to produce the same results when the body has changed.
Results require respecting the process.
That doesn't mean deprivation, dieting or punishing workouts.
But it does mean being willing to adjust.
Maybe that means prioritizing protein.
Maybe it means strength training with intention.
Maybe it means paying attention to portions, calories, sleep, stress, or daily movement.
The truth is simple:
If you're not willing to change the actions, you may need to change the expectations.
One of those two things has to change.
My job isn't to tell women they need more willpower.
My job is to help them understand what's happening, what actually works in midlife, and how to create results that are realistic and sustainable.
If you're tired of feeling like your body is playing by a different set of rules, maybe it's time for your final update.
The Last Upgrade starts Monday.
Because the goal isn't to become who you were at 25.
The goal is to learn how to thrive in the body you have now. ❤️
