Why is listening to your coach just as important as practicing your skills?

Soccer development goes beyond passing, shooting, and scoring goals. Learning to listen, understand instructions, and apply feedback is a huge part of becoming a better player!

Here’s what young athletes gain from being coachable:

⚽ Better Game Awareness: Understanding positioning, movement, and decision-making on the field.
⚽ Confidence: Learning from mistakes and applying feedback helps players trust their abilities.
⚽ Teamwork: Following instructions and communicating effectively helps the entire team work together.

Respect the ref. Respect the game. ⚽️💙

Referees are an essential part of the game, and they deserve to feel safe, supported and respected every time they step onto the field.

Many of our RMSC referees are young officials who are learning and developing right alongside our players. Yelling, insulting, threatening or intimidating an official has no place in our game.

As players, coaches, parents and spectators, we all have a role to play in creating a positive game-day environment.

Support the players. Respect the officials. Set the example.

Because at the end of the day: No Ref = No Game.

Soccer development is about more than what happens with the ball. ⚽️

RMSC’s Athletic Development Program helps players build the physical foundations that support their game, including movement, strength, speed and overall athletic ability.

The goal? Help players become stronger, more confident athletes while developing habits they can carry with them throughout their soccer journey.

Our Fall Phase is underway and we love seeing our players putting in the work both on and off the ball. 👏

Player safety always comes first. ⚽️

Concussions aren’t always immediately obvious, which is why it’s important for players, coaches and parents to understand the signs and symptoms and know what to do if a concussion is suspected.

If something doesn’t seem right, remove the player from play and have them properly assessed before returning.

When in doubt, sit them out.

Taking concussion awareness seriously helps us create a safer environment for every player at RMSC.
