Lake of the Woods Representation at the Northern Ontario Club Championships

From Local Ice to the Provincial Stage 🥌

From March 26th to 29th, the competitive focus shifts to Fort Frances as three of our area's teams compete in the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA) Club Championships.

What are the Club Championships?

This event is the pinnacle for the "true" club curler. Unlike the professional tour circuit, the Club Championships are restricted to members who represent the heartbeat of local leagues.

It provides an opportunity for competitive players who balance their passion for the game with careers and family to represent their home ice and potentially earn a spot at the National Championships in St. Thomas, Ontario, this November. These provincials in Fort Frances will determine who moves on to represent Northern Ontario on that national stage.

The Teams

It is a testament to the strength of our local curling programs to see such a strong, collaborative contingent heading to the provincials:

Team Taylor – Representing the Kenora Curling Club

Team McDonald – Representing the Kenora Curling Club

Team Szajewski – Representing the Keewatin Curling Club
