Cyclists are encouraged to register for spring GoByBike Week in Kelowna.
The City of Kelowna is encouraging people to register for GoByBike Week, and it’s offering incentives.
Registration is open for spring GoByBike Week. Residents who sign up to be part of the event and log their rides between May 30 and June 5 will be entered to win prizes.
“Whether commuting to work, running errands, visiting friends and family or exploring Kelowna’s scenic pathways, every ride counts,” said Avery Schneider, transportation planner.
“GoByBike Week encourages people of all ages and abilities, from first-time riders to seasoned cyclists, to get involved and experience the many benefits of cycling, including saving money on gas, staying active and having fun along the way."
Last year, GoByBike Week events across B.C. translated into 790,000 rides covering 12 million kilometres through LogMyRide.
“It is a clear and consistent dataset that demonstrates the scale of engagement and the growing role of active transportation across the province. We’re already seeing that momentum carry forward, with a 10% increase in ridership in the first quarter of 2026,” said Quentin Randall, executive director of GoByBikeBC.
The City of Kelowna continues to invest in biking infrastructure across the community. One of the latest projects is the pathway going in along Bertram Street, which will connect the Sutherland Avenue and Cawston Avenue bike paths.
