Colwest Alpine Adventures

Colwest Alpine Adventures Colwest offers avalanche training at the highest level, with very experienced current instructors. The twist?

Small Groups | Hike | Scramble | Climb | Skill Development | Mtn Guiding

During my 25 plus years of managing the General Mountaineering
Camp for the Alpine Club of Canada I was frequently complimented
on my ability to handle all logistics that go along with running
a camp of over 45 people in a remote, mountain setting. My trips are marked by reliability and individualized showcasing the excellen

t service that the GMC was known for. Trips will be organized in a smaller format with personal service, in a more intimate setting. Smaller numbers will allow us to explore more remote objectives and
personalize services in all facets of the camp (including guiding,
catering and general operations). Participants will even be given the
option to have private accommodation at no extra charge. So, come explore the Columbia Mountains in a fresh, new format,
backed by traditional experience and incomparable mountain sense. All guides are ACMG certified and staff are folks who have proven
their skills to me over many years. Contact Brad for details: [email protected] | 250-819-9774 | www.colwest.ca.

What a difference a few days make! Just over a week ago we had perfect ski conditions in the Coquihalla. Over 30 cm of new snow, -5 to -10 Celsius, very light winds and good visibility. By the end of the weekend, we were back in the soup. Oh well, thanks for the great skiing, guys.

Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day and the achievements of the incredible women who are a part of the BLBCA.
The backcountry industry includes women who are lodge owners, guides, custodians, cooks, administrative staff and many other roles. Each of these women enriches the experience of those they interact with and work with.
Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together, we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all 🫶 💜

Well, we aren't getting much, if any, new snow in the Kamloops/Sun Peaks region. Obviously, this isn't what we would prefer, but our AST program is rolling along with some sunny weather and keen students. Thanks to all.

Foggy day for a Companion Rescue Course with a gang from BC Parks. Despite the lack of snow, it was a day well spent honing everyone's companion rescue skills.
Thanks for the pics, Andrea. 🙏
