Some more gratitude to show as our junior season concludes. We had our placement games this weekend, both U17s and U19s played UBCOB Ravens, although we were the higher seeds, we were scheduled to travel to UBC for the matches. We asked BC rugby if we could play the game in the valley to minimize our travel, UBCOB willingly made the trip to meet us if we could find a pitch. Chilliwack RFC generously offered their pitch, dressed the field, made their change rooms accessible, and even hosted a free BBQ for players, even though they had no club members playing in the match. Unreal community, we are very grateful for their generosity. A massive thanks to Kamloops Rugby Club for helping fund a bus for transport for the kids this weekend, the trip down and back was a positive experience for all.

Match summaries... U17s got out to an early lead and didn’t look back, as they won convincingly 57-10. U19s got down early, and put up 17 unanswered points in the second half to win 27-22, down but never ever out.

This picture shows the U17s in white Kelowna Crows kit, and U19s in the KRC purple. This season has been a great opportunity to make this sport accessible to 50+ athletes who are hungry for rugby throughout our region. Thanks to all parties involved for their dedication and support!

U19 boys ground out a 14-7 win over United. A tough match featuring a few high pressure goal line stands for either team. U19s finish the 15s regular season with a league record of 3 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie. Playoffs await for both U17s and U19s. Get ready lads.

The Junior Boys had a pair of hard fought contests against classy Capilano hosts today. The U17s fell short 36-26 in a pacy match that featured plenty of enterprising play from both sides. The U19s hung in until the bitter end in a very physical match, where yards came at a premium, ultimately falling 13-7 in a very defensive affair. Thanks again to Capilano RFC for the great meal and hospitality.

The jerseys do look different today as we donned the tops purchased by our Crows brothers sponsors. We are grateful for the generosity of our local sponsors, Sun Ridge Contracting, Chris Chan Real Estate, and KLL Construction, who have outfitted our Kamloops Juniors with kit for the past two seasons.

The U17s have a bye next weekend, while the U19s travel to United to wrap up regular season play.

Juniors made the journey to Connaught park today to play the Vancouver Barbarians. U17s were clinical in an 87-0 victory. U19s were blindsided with a demand to play a 12 aside match as the opposition only had 15 players (🤔). The boys found themselves down 28-12 at the half, but stormed back with relentless pressure in the second half to turn in a 39-28 victory over the previously unbeaten Barbs. Great work gents, both sides creep closer to the top of the table and get a well deserved rest next weekend.
