This is our last full month as we prepare to close our doors in just 44 days 😢

If you've ever wanted to try KickFit, now is the time! We have just 9 KickFit classes remaining before we close this chapter.

For those with KickFit punch passes, we have some great news! Our friends at Let's Move Studio have graciously offered our members 2 weeks of free classes and will honor any unused punch passes at no cost to you.

To all of my members — past, present, and those standing by me until the end… thank you ❤️

This has been one of the hardest seasons for my family. Alongside personal challenges, we’re navigating the reality of closing the gym, and it hasn’t been easy.

All equipment sales and current memberships are helping cover our lease, system and additional operating costs through to August. Even though we close July 15, I’m still responsible for the full month’s rent.

Since the announcement, a few members have chosen to leave early, which has made things tighter in these final months.

To help bridge that gap, I’m offering short-term membership options so I’m not left carrying these expenses alone.

If you’ve ever thought about trying the gym, coming back, or just need a place to train short-term, your support right now would mean more than I can put into words.

Ladies 💔

This is an incredibly emotional post to write.

After 9.5 years of owning Ladies Only Fitness, I have made the heartbreaking decision to permanently close our doors as of July 15th. This is not the outcome I had hoped for.

Due to a change in building ownership and a significant increase in lease costs, I am no longer able to operate the business sustainably. This decision has not been made lightly, but the financial impact of these changes has left me with no other option.

What we built together is so much more than a gym. It is a community, a safe space, and a place where so many of you showed up not just for your workouts but for yourselves and for each other.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️

Thank you for supporting me through some of the most important and difficult seasons of my life—through the loss of my dad, and through the births of my babies. You allowed me the space to be human, to be a mom, and to still do something I loved so deeply. 🙏

That is something I will never forget.

As we move into these final months, I would truly love and appreciate your support in finishing strong. Whether that looks like continuing your membership, joining us for a month or two, or coming out to a KickFit class—every visit, every workout, and every bit of support means more than you know!!!

We still have time together, and I truly hope to see as many of you as possible in the gym before we close. Let’s make these final months count 💛

The answer depends on YOU and YOUR work ethic. 😉

One thing I can tell you for certain: you are 0% closer to your goal while you are sitting around demanding a timeline before you convince yourself to make even the smallest bit of effort. ⁣

If you continue to say, "You know what, I'm not seeing the results I want, I'm going to quit." Then you will never see the results you want, it's that simple. Don't give up on YOU! 🥰

Hard work always wins. There are no guarantees in life. Stop searching for one and start taking action now. Show up and keep doing the work Every. Damn. Day. 👏 👏

⚠️Fob Access & Guest Policy Reminder⚠️

Having the flexibility of a fob system is critical—it allows our members to access the facility on their schedule.
However, flexible access does not mean open access for non-members.⛔️

We are a small business, and paying members are what keep our doors open.
You wouldn’t go to a restaurant and expect your friend to eat for free.
You wouldn’t go to a movie theatre and expect your friend to attend for free.

The same applies to the gym. 💪

If everyone worked out for free, we simply wouldn’t be here.

This has become an increasing issue. Our system tracks every fob entry, and we can clearly see when individuals are tailgating or entering without fobbing in.

All members are required to fob in individually.
This is also an insurance requirement—we must know exactly who is in the building in the event of an emergency.

🌼We love when members want to bring friends to try our facility—drop-ins are always welcome!
To keep things fair, safe, and compliant, the proper protocol just needs to be followed.

If you have a friend who would like to attend, they are more than welcome to download our app, sign up, and purchase a drop-in pass, which grants them their own door access.

Today we’re breaking down some of the BIGGEST tracking mistakes you might be making 😲

They may seem small or insignificant, but remember this:
small daily inconsistencies add up — and inaccurate tracking can absolutely stall your progress.

This isn’t an exhaustive list, but these are the most common mistakes I see 👇

1️⃣ Eyeballing instead of weighing 👀
Do you ever guesstimate portions because you think you know what a serving looks like?
A few extra grams — especially of fats — can make a big difference.
Example:
• Measured cream cheese: 70 cals
• Eyeballed cream cheese: 112 cals
➡️ 294 extra calories per week

2️⃣ Not tracking cooking oils 🫒
Oil is extremely calorie dense, and it’s easy to pour more than you realize.

Example:
• Assumed macros: 2P / 7C / 0F
• Actual macros: 2P / 7C / 12F
➡️ 588 extra calories per week

3️⃣ Not tracking veggies 🥦
Veggies are nutritious and lower in calories — but they’re not calorie-free.
They should still be tracked like everything else.

Example:
• 3 servings/day for a week
➡️ 651 extra calories per week

4️⃣ Not tracking creamers, sauces, milks, etc. 🥛
“Just a splash” or “just a dash” adds up fast — especially when eyeballing.

Example:
• Black coffee: 0 cals
• Coffee with cream + sugar: 85 cals
➡️ 595 extra calories per week

If you made ALL of these mistakes daily…
That’s 2,128 extra calories per week 😬

The takeaway?
📌 Track everything.
📌 Be honest with your portions.
📌 Accuracy leads to clarity — and clarity leads to results.

When you track properly, you can confidently hit your calorie and macro goals and make the progress you actually want. 💪🔥

Mine? Wide-Grip Lat Pulldowns—no question.
They’re guaranteed to be in my program every single week.

I also love supersetting them with a standing underhand lat pulldown, dropping the weight so I can really slow things down and feel every rep contract.

🔹 Why I love lat pulldowns so much:

✔️ Build back strength & width
Targets the lats for that V-taper while also hitting rhomboids, traps, and rear delts.

✔️ Improve posture
Strengthens the muscles that pull the shoulders back and support the spine—huge for anyone sitting all day.

✔️ Progress toward pull-ups
Same movement pattern with adjustable weight, making it an excellent stepping stone for building pull-up strength.

✔️ Enhance grip strength
Your forearms and hands work hard holding the bar, carrying over to other lifts.

✔️ Boost overall upper-body power
Engages biceps, shoulders, and core for stronger, more functional pulling strength.

✔️ Versatile & adaptable
Wide, narrow, overhand, underhand—each grip shifts emphasis and keeps training effective.

✔️ Reduce injury risk
A strong back supports the spine and helps protect you during other lifts and daily movement.

🔹 Standing Underhand Lat Pulldown Bonus
This variation increases core engagement, emphasizes the lats and biceps, and forces better control since you’re not seated—perfect for mind-muscle connection.

Barbell squats aren’t the only way to build strong legs. If back discomfort, mobility, or form is holding you back, these two machines are solid alternatives.

🔹 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐒𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭
Pendulum squats are incredible for building lower-body strength and size—especially the quads, glutes, and hamstrings.
Because of the guided movement, you get:
• Deep, controlled range of motion
• Reduced spinal strain
• Less stress on the knees
• Strong quad activation and hypertrophy

They’re a great option if you want intensity without loading your spine.

🔹 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭
Leverage squats allow you to train heavy and safely, making them ideal for both beginners and experienced lifters.
Benefits include:
• Reduced joint and spinal strain
• Easier form control
• Deep squats for greater muscle activation
• Excellent strength and hypertrophy carryover

👉 𝐏𝐫𝐨 𝐓𝐢𝐩: Place your feet higher on the angled platform to increase hip flexion and depth—this shifts more emphasis to the glutes and hamstrings.

Remember: progress isn’t about forcing one lift—it’s about choosing the right tool for your body 💪
