Congrats to this beautiful couple who’s dance brought me to tears 🥹🥹🥹🥹

She came in terrified of being dropped in a dip. We went over all the safety measures slowly (this is where my trauma-informed somatic practice comes in handy for dance 😉) then they went home and practiced SO MUCH.

The leans and dips ended up being the best part of the dance because she smiles so big every time! - and there’s now 4 “dangerous” moves in her wedding dance. Get it girl 🕺💃✌️

You’re not coming to me to become professional ballroom dancers, you’re coming to have a good time and learn some “good enough” moves for your wedding!

Part of what keeps my job fun is making up names that help couples remember the moves!

I’ve collected names over the years too - “tootsie pop” Luc Peron, “going to the bar” , and “show pony” are my most recent favourites. Videos of those coming soon!

This lift is pretty self explanatory and good for dresses where you can’t lift your leg! Bend on leg or throw your head back for an extra flair 💃
