Blanks, I’ve got blanks !!!!
A lot of 8’ and 8’6” blanks in a nice dark green.
Most are 3 piece.
The shorter blanks are ideal for someone learning to fly fish.
Give one to a younger person for Christmas.
They are also ideal for someone who just likes a shorter fly rod.
Prices are around $150 ish.
Cheers

Another broken rod back in use. Had to remove a section between the guides. Rod was splintered. Tip section is a little shorter but quite usable.

Did a red wrap on the outer sleeve. All fixed and back in action.

Recently built two 6’6” spin rods for a customer in Williams Lake (his second build) and for a good friend. Both are ultra lite or light spin rods.
Enjoyed doing it. Nice break from building fly rods. Just a different ‘spin’ on it. 😁

Now is the time. Take stock of your fishing gear. Reels need to be cleaned and lubricated.
Rods need to be inspected for any blemishes. Be it worn guides and especially the tip guide, threading wearing out and handles (cork or rubber) needing replacement.
Also make sure your lines are in good shape. Nothing worse than losing a nice fish due to a knot failure or one in the leader.
Happy fishing in 2025 !!

This is a joke between two friends. Actually worked out pretty good. Just not sure it will catch fish. I’ll ask for pictures 😁

When rods need repair, be it handles, guides, wrapping etc. it is easy to see. But one part of the fly rod that can go unnoticed is the metal tip. The abrasion from lines and leaders causes grooving, which can be the reason a leader or tippet fails. When you check your rod, it’s butt to tip. If you have grooving, it’s a cheap fix but one that should get done. Picture shows grooving on left.
