All martial artists are made up of physical and mental attributes:

Physical attributes are aspects of our agility (flexibility, balance and coordination) or strength (power, stamina, and overall physical toughness)

Mental attributes are aspects of knowledge/wisdom (strategy, tactics and experience) and discipline (the will to continue through adversity and focus on training no matter what)

All fighters start with a base set of attributes.
It’s up to each and every one of us to improve and balance them all throughout our lives.

FEATURED TECHNIQUE: SHOVEL HOOK

The shovel hook is a dynamic and well known liver shot, as it combines the centripetal force of a hook with the explosive power of an uppercut.

But many overlook its tactical use as a head shot against opponents who constantly slip, bob, weave and shoot for takedowns; it’s geometrically more likely to land than other punches in pocket exchanges, and is easily converted into an underhook, crossface frame, or collar tie.
