Judo Alberta The Alberta Kodokan Black Belt Association, commonly known as Judo Alberta, is the governing body for the sport of Judo in the province of Alberta.

Our mission is to promote the principles and teachings of the sport of Kodokan judo to all levels in all parts of Alberta. The Association, incorporated in 1960, is a non-profit organization which operates on funds from the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation, fundraising programs, and membership fees. Judo Alberta serves the needs of its 1,600 members which consists of Judoka (athletes), instructors, coaches, officials, and supportive members.

2026 Judo Alberta Inter-Provincial Training Camp, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

Judo Alberta would like to thank Canadian Olympian / Olympic Coach Sasha Mehmedovic for sharing his knowledge, experience and insight to the athletes from Western Canada. It was a privilege to have you share your techniques with the athletes and coaches. Hopefully we will see some SASHA ROLLS at the Open Nationals Championships!

It was a great weekend of judo! Thank you Tolide Judo Club for hosting. Thank you to all the coaches and volunteers for making this a successful weekend. Thank you Judo BC, Judo SK and Judo Yukon for your continued support of this training camp and to judo in Western Canada.

Entries received after the specified above deadline are subject to an additional $50/entry. Late entries, second entries and changes to the original registration will be accepted until the end of the
accreditation period 6pm on May 13th for Kata and ne-waza events and 5pm on May 14th for all other events.

Congratulations to Evelyn Beaton 52kg (3W-1L) for winning silver medal today at the 2026 SR Pan-Am Championships in Panama. She lost a tough final by yuko to Olympic Bronze Medalist Pimenta from Brazil.

Xavion Johnson 1W-1L and Luke Thomson 0W-1L participated in their first Senior Pan-Am Championships, unfortunately we’re not able to finish on the top seven.

Day 2 Judo Alberta Provincial Championship

The second day of Judo Alberta Provincial Championships was full of excitement and drama. The CWG age division was exciting and stressful for everyone involved. The senior divisions was a mixture of established judoka and youngsters.
