🎉🚲 Happy 3rd Anniversary to Critical Mass YYC!

Over the last three years, this group ride has been a game changer for Calgary and for the way our bike community comes together, connects, and finds each other.
Groups and rides like this are an important part of the fabric of Calgary and where our cycling community is headed. They create space for people to ride together, meet new people, build friendships, and remind everyone just how strong the bike community in this city really is.
A huge thank you to everyone who organizes, participates, supports, shares, and contributes in their own way. ❤️🚲

Year to date, our Bathtub Bikes 17th Avenue SE location has given away more than 220 kids’ bikes.
Many are given away during our annual My First Bike kids’ bike giveaway in May, but it doesn’t stop there. Throughout the season, we give bikes away on almost a daily basis. We try to always have a kids’ bike ready at our 17th Avenue location for a young rider who needs one.

This year we also expanded what we can do through Bathtub Bikes @ Bike HUB, in partnership with Youth en Route, with our Kids Bike Trade-Up Program.
🚲 Bring in a kids’ bike they’ve outgrown.
🔄 Trade it for the next size up.
❤️ Keep them riding
The program covers everything from strider bikes all the way up to 26-inch youth bikes, and more than 300 bikes have already been traded up this year.
These bikes are repaired and tuned by our amazing volunteers, with support from professional mechanics and youth working in our shops while learning real-world job and mechanical skills.
Want to help keep it going?
Donate a bike! Kids’ bikes and adult bikes are always welcome, in any condition. Donations help us continue providing affordable and free bicycles throughout our community.

Want to understand your bike better and confidently handle basic repairs? Bikes 101 is a beginner-friendly, hands-on course with small classes and plenty of one-on-one instruction.

🔧 You’ll learn: • Bicycle ABCs Air, Brakes & Chain
• Flat repair & tube replacement
• Wheel removal & installation
• Chain cleaning & lubrication
• Brake adjustments & pad inspection
• Basic gears & derailleur adjustments
• Cable tension & limit screws
• Drivetrain maintenance
• Pre-ride safety checks
• Troubleshooting common bike problems

Grand Opening of the Martin Family Pump Track & Skatepark at George Moss Park in Ogden today, August 22! 🎉

Youth en Route was on site with a kids’ bike giveaway, Trade Up program, Learn to Bike activities, and a bike raffle for a KRUCH Steel Bicycle Frames GTREX! 🚲🔥

We also got to check out some amazing adaptive bikes from and see firsthand how cycling can be made more accessible for riders of all abilities.
