🤩💃🏻‼️STOP, READ ⬇️‼️🤩

Ladies and gents, boys and gals - it’s time, please help us welcome our latest inductee The 250 Class Club…. ELLEN 🥳

Fierce, determined, gritty, goal-oriented, hilarious Ellen, someone you just want to be in the company of! This post could be pages long but we’ll do our best… Ellen joined the DF culture in May of 2025. She hit her 100 Classes in February of 2026, having had to take a short break BUT then hit 150 more classes under 8 MONTHS LATER 🤯🤘🏻

Ellen has a personality that is contagious - she walks into class crackin jokes, ready to bear down and sweat. Having a love for weightlifting coming from a competitive wrestling background, Ellen has exploded her lifting numbers. She deadlifts over 225lbs, back squats over 165lbs and not to mention, has become an assassin with Olympic Lifting!

Not just strong af, Ellen has an ENGINE. She ran the Wheat City Run 5km in just 35:00‼️🥳

Above all, she is incredibly supportive to her fellow members, including her husband Dave. That support goes both ways. You will often see them strategizing workouts, telling each other, “you can do more weight” and standing right there cheering while they lift that weight. That is a win. Anytime you can do the hard stuff with your spouse, that’s a recipe for success ✅

We warned you we could go on forever!

Ellen, keep kickin ass 💪🏻

DEADSET TURNS 4 🥳

What started as a crazy little dream and “what if” has flourished into a community of motivation, grit, new firsts, accomplishments and of course, a whole lot of fun.

Whether you’re a Founding Member or a few months in, you are part of the culture that DeadSet so proudly represents. Members past and present, thank you. You are the reason we are here today and continue to have the passion we do.

Coaches, you are the backbone - you create the environment that keeps athletes coming back day after day (even when the speakers blew and the workout music was the sound of heavy breathing and you cheering to cover the awkward silence 😂🤭)

Coach or athlete, you each have a unique drive, work ethic and personality that has shaped us.

Let’s keep improving our quality of life through fitness, friends and sh*t talk 😉

THANK YOU 🎂 🥂

Whether it’s push-ups, pull-ups, or your next big lift, we care more about how you move than how much you move.

Full range, solid reps, clean technique - that’s the good stuff. Nothing makes your coach prouder than a beautiful, technically sound rep. And don’t worry, we’ll help you build the strength to get there💪🏻

Re-release: How Not to Stink at the Gym: A Public Service Announcement

We love that you work hard and sweat it out here… but let’s be real: nobody wants their workout partner’s Eau de 3-Day-Old Shirt wafting into their face mid-burpee.

Here’s how to keep things fresh while you crush your workout:

1️⃣ Fresh Shirt, Fresh Start – Wear a clean t-shirt, tank, and shorts every workout. Reusing yesterday’s sweat sponge = instant funk.

2️⃣ Scrub-a-Dub the Stinky Bits – Use anti-microbial soap on the high-performance zones (you know which ones). Regular soap works… but anti-microbial gives you the extra edge.

3️⃣ Deodorant/ Antiperspirant is Your Spotter – Apply it before you train. If you forget, no worries – there’s complimentary stuff in the bathroom!

4️⃣ Air Out the Gear – Shoes, knee sleeves, lifting belts… they need fresh air too. Letting them ferment in your gym bag is a crime against humanity.

Remember: Sweat is natural. Stink is optional. Let’s keep the gym smelling like effort and victory… not like a locker room from 1997.

We end this message by saying, this is not a targeted post - breathe easy members 🤭

Meet Coach Sherry 👋🏻

A little bit about me…
I am a Mom of 2 adult kids. They are my pride and joy! My 4-legged child ‘Bo’ ranks up there as pretty special too.

Sports and exercise have always been very important to me. As a Registered Nurse I see how important an active lifestyle is, especially as we age. There are so many debilitating injuries and chronic diseases that can be prevented, or at least minimized, by incorporating physical activity into our daily routine.

In the fall of 2013, a good friend of mine and I decided to try our first CrossFit class. Despite feeling very dizzy and nearly puking from all the forward rolls we did, I fell in love with it and have been doing it regularly since.

After several years of classes and workouts, I felt compelled to share my passion with others and begin coaching. I completed my Level 1 CrossFit Trainer certification in 2018 and completed the CrossFit Gymnastics course in 2019. Coaching has been the most rewarding experience for me. Seeing members achieve goals they never thought would be possible is the absolute best feeling. As John Whitmore stated, “Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their growth”. This sums up coaching CrossFit perfectly.

One thing I wish every member knew before starting at the gym…I actually have two things that come to mind. You don’t have to be ‘fit’ to do CrossFit workouts. Crossfit is a journey that will get you fit in the most effective and efficient way, as long as you are consistent with it. And, even on those days when you don’t feel like going to the gym, you will never regret going once the workout is done. The mental health benefits of exercise are just as important as the physical ones.

What’s one movement I think everyone should learn properly? Again, I have two. Everyone should learn squats and deadlifts. As we age, so many people develop hip, knee, and back issues that can be so life altering. Squats and deadlifts mimic many movements we do daily, so strengthening those muscle groups can minimize, and possibly eliminate, so many problems later on. (Con’t reading in the comments)

Volume Up! Coach L has a message for us all‼️

Let’s give thanks to our bodies for remaining strong, capable and mobile as the months and years go by.

Let’s be thankful to ourselves for staying determined to remain just a number that is celebrated each year. It doesn’t determine our quality of life. We do.

Happy Thanksgiving from our crew to yours 🍁 🍂

✨🪩A moment of celebration loading..🪩✨

Social media scrollers, please join us in welcoming the latest inductee into The 250 Class Club (actually 300 Class Club 🙊)…. CAITLIN 🥳

This hard charger is a staple in the gym, specifically the 5:30am, even on her days off, that’s her go-to time, rise and grind baby! Caitlin is also a long standing Founding Member, having signed up prior to the doors opening on the first day 💪🏻

Caitlin comes in firing for every single workout - being an ol pro with a barbell, burpees bring her joy, and push-ups? LIGHTS OUT 🤩 She’s a coaches dream, rumour has it, Caitlin has never cherry picked a workout, nothing scares her off. She’s confident in her abilities to physically and mentally grind through anything that’s thrown her way! Her most recent feat? Running 5km in the Wheat City Run - having previously been a hardcore runner, she dialled it back for years due to many reasons but last weekend, she showed that she is such a well rounded athlete, she went out an lit that run on FIRE!

Caitlin is a role model to others when it comes to understanding the positive impact that fitness has on your overall life. Excuses? Not in her vocabulary. DeadSet has had an impact on Caitlin we’re sure but more importantly, she’s had a huge impact on us. The positivity and encouragement that radiates from this woman is infectious - you’re lucky when she’s in your classes, we cannot say enough about how genuinely wonderful of a person Caitlin is - We are so lucky to call her our athlete 💪🏻

Keep doin your thang🔥 (p.s sorry for letting you sneak past 250 all the way to 300!!)
