A little message from Bobbi:
I love the OPA family - clients and colleagues! I can't begin to find the right way to say thank you to everyone who took time to send their thoughts and kind words in person or via text, email, video message, social media comments, sending flowers and even for time spent at a very special lunch with some of my longest standing clients. As much as I loved our facility and programs, I love our athletes and staff even more! I wouldn't trade anything for the experiences and relationships that have come my way because of OPA. This past week has been filled with laughter, memories and with a few tears. It was a difficult decision to retire from OPA, but this decision was so much easier knowing that you are all still in great hands with your current coaches and will continue to get the strength and conditioning you need to achieve your goals!
I want to take a moment to acknowledge Jon Jonathan Lindsay Filewich who has been an integral part of OPA for a number of years. Jon started off by making a very big impact in his home community of Souris, and in his early days with OPA was able to bring top quality strength and conditioning to his home town. As his teaching career expanded, Jon remained involved with OPA's inner workings doing many behind the scenes tasks including being the mastermind behind our social media posts. Jon shared OPA's philosophies and although you may not have seen him in person as often as you'd see Paul, Maddie, Matt or Bobbi, he was always at work finding ways to support our athletes and keep OPA running smoothly. Jon, I couldn't have done this without you these past 6-7 years. Thank you!
Paul, Maddie and Matt also deserve a huge shout out for being part of this final chapter of OPA. You are exemplary humans and I can't take credit for OPA without acknowledging these key long standing puzzle pieces in our current OPA staff group. These 3 along with our summer interns Alex Plante and McKiya Mazur have been powerhouses finding creative ways to keep everyone training throughout a pandemic, and adjusting and adapting whenever needed. You guys are the GOAT.
I also think that Sean Wojnarski deserves an official OPA nod not only for being our longest standing employee, but also just for being Sean and bringing nothing but his best to our athletes for over a decade.
I can truly say that I am honoured and humbled to have worked not only with our OPA athletes, but also to have been part of this great group of coaches.
I will still be very actively involved in my Physiotherapy career Dynamic Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic and hope that most of you don't need to see me there... but if you do, I am there for you! Best wishes to our OPA family and I look forward to hearing about all of your adventures and successes in the upcoming months and years.
