ACES Europe's commitment to sport as a social value does not stop at Europe's borders.

Through ACES America, our continental delegation, the American Week of Sport was created to bring the same values that drive the European Week of Sport to cities, regions, and communities across the Americas.

From Guayaquil, American Capital of Sport 2026, to communities across North, Central, and South America, ACES-recognised cities are joining a growing movement: one that treats sport not as spectacle, but as public policy, education, and community development.

This is what a global sports network looks like in practice. This is the ACES model, built on shared values, translated into local action.

Naples has always been a city of deep passion. In 2026, that energy is channelled into a city-wide commitment to sport, public health, and community development.

As European Capital of Sport 2026, Naples is not simply hosting sporting competitions. It is integrating sport into the daily fabric of city life, from neighbourhood initiatives and schools to international events and public parks.

The title of European Capital of Sport is not an arrival point. It is the beginning of a long-term vision: a city where sport is accessible to every citizen, in every district, at every stage of life.

Naples demonstrates that a historic, complex, and vibrant city can also be a city that leads in sport policy, and in doing so, builds a better future for its communities.

🌍💜 Proud of the incredible success of the first-ever ACES Women & Allies Global Summit 2026 in Bari, Puglia 🇮🇹

Leaders, institutions, universities and sports organizations from more than 10 countries came together to advance women’s leadership, equality and empowerment through sport.

A historic milestone for ACES during our 25th anniversary, highlighted by the development of the Puglia Commitment, a global framework to promote equal opportunities for women and girls in sport.

Together, we continue building a more inclusive, safer and fairer future through sport. 💪✨

Every September, communities across Europe make a collective choice: to move more, to include more, and to build a culture of sport that reaches every citizen, regardless of age, background, or ability.

The European Week of Sport, held annually under the European Commission's initiative, is one of the continent's largest celebrations of physical activity and healthy lifestyles. ACES Europe is a proud official partner of this initiative.

We encourage all ACES-recognised cities, regions, and communities to begin planning their participation now: organise events, open sport facilities, engage schools and local clubs, and use the Week as an opportunity to place sport at the very centre of your local agenda.

The European Week of Sport is not a calendar event. It is a movement, and it belongs to all of us.

Follow our page for more information on how your city or region can participate in the European Week of Sport 2026.

Mountain territories face some of Europe's most complex challenges: climate change, depopulation, economic transition, and the need to build public spaces that genuinely include everyone.

Sport, when properly embedded in local policy, has the capacity to address all of these.

At the ACES Destinazione Montagna congress in Folgaria (22–24 May), European delegations gather to tackle exactly these questions, sharing models, policies, and practices that make mountain communities more liveable, more resilient, and more inclusive.

Swipe through the six thematic pillars of the congress, and see why building sport in the mountains is fundamentally about building communities.

From 22 to 24 May, Folgaria, European Community of Sport 2025, welcomes the second edition of ACES Destinazione Montagna, an international congress dedicated to the sustainable development of mountain territories through sport.

This year's theme: 'The Mountain for Everyone: Sport, Accessibility and Community.'

The congress brings together European delegations to share good practices, exchange policy frameworks, and build concrete commitments. Six thematic pillars structure the work: sport infrastructure, event legacy, climate resilience, circular economy, identity and community, and inclusion and accessibility.

The first edition produced the European Manifesto for the Mountain. This year, that commitment deepens, with more targeted, action-oriented contributions from each participating delegation.

Folgaria is not simply hosting a congress. It is demonstrating, in practice, what sport-driven community development looks like in a mountain territory.
