Saturday Junior Netball at Kelly Park - what a fabulous end to a great season!

We had close grand finals and excited young people playing in our Gala Day season finale, all in perfect netball (playing and spectating!) weather!

Thank you to all the coaches and parents, that enable all the things to happen, to get your children on the netball court.

Thank you to our umpires, both green-band underage, as well as our experienced umpire mentors. Also thanks to our players and parents for supporting and encouraging these umpires.

Thank you to our sponsors - O'Neill Homes Pty Ltd for the game day award each week, and GuzmanY Gomez for the sponsorship towards our umpire uniforms.

Thanks to our committee who get all the jobs done, as well as Nicole in our canteen, and Chrissy, our umpire coordinator.

Coaches/parents - are you missing any medals? We had one found at the end of the day. We're also looking to sort any other medals you need, so please msg through Facebook.

Grand Final and Gala Weekend is here!

This is such fun day, and a great way to end our season for Saturday Junior Netball.

Here are the details you need:
Courts 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 will all be used for a Round Robin with 20 teams from 9 & Under, 11 & Under and a NetSetGO team!
Each team will play 3 games, against the 3 other teams in their 'pool'.
1st Game: 8.45am
2nd Game: 9am
3rd Game: 9.15am
4th Game: 9.30am
5th Game: 9.45am.

Each of these games will be 12 mins in total, with 6 mins played, then a straight swap of ends for another 6 mins. This will be centrally timed and a bell (literally!) will be rung to advise these courts to change ends.

On Courts 1 and 7, we'll have our Grand Finals being played, with 16 & Under on Court 1, and 13 & Under on Court 7. Court 4 (right in front of the clubrooms) will be kept vacant for spectators.

Grand Final will start at 9am, and each quarter will coincide with a new game in the Gala Day matches (Games 2-5).

What you need to know:
ALL teams need to check in from 8.30am, to collect their team sheet with their draw for the day. Umpires will be supplied, and remain on the same court for the 5 matches.

Following all the matches (including any overtime in Grand Finals if needed) we'll commence our presentations for all grand finals and Gala Day teams, and our friends in All Abilities. This should be around 10.15am.

We'll have a BBQ and sausage in bread for every player on Saturday. (We're still looking for some helpers, if you can assist for a 30 minute session!)

Round 12! This is the first week of Finals for 16&U, and 13&U, while our 9&U and 11&U have their last matches before the final Gala Day next weekend.

Congrats to our finalists, and a special mention to the 16&U section, where the final position of teams came down to just 5.62%! 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place all finished on equal points, which is amazing. Bad luck to Junior Saints who've had a great season of improvement, and just missed out. All results and draws are available in Netball Connect.

Saturday 15 August - Grand Finals (13s and 16s) and GALA DAY for all 9s and 11s teams! All teams will commence at 8.45am, and presentations will commence approx 10.15am.

VOLUNTEERS: We need some volunteers to assist us with the BBQ next week. Please put your name down in the clubrooms, if you can help!

It's been a big week of netball for our own Wodonga boy, Darcy Lockhart.

Currently representing Australia Under 17s in New Zealand, competing in the Pacific Horizons Cup, Darcy has completed the third game in the series, finishing with a win rate of 3-0.

16 year old Darcy started his netball at Kelly Park on Saturdays at age 11, then continued through Rep Netball at Netball Wodonga, then State and now National representation!

Darcy currently umpires 3 games each week at our Saturday Junior netball competition at Kelly Park, and umpired his first Ovens & Murray Football Netball League match last Saturday.

Great job, Darcy, and congratulations to the whole Australian team on their success and sportsmanship!

A few parents have asked - so confirming that NetSetGO will happen tomorrow at 9am as usual.

We'll then break for 2 weeks and return for the final 3 weeks of the program.
