Windsor Croquet Club has 4 top class courts and is one of the most active Association Croquet Clubs in Brisbane. We also have a very enthusiastic group of Golf Croquet players who are learning fast and are very competitive. We are a very friendly club and, though we have more than our share of top national and international players, we have many players who play croquet socially. Association and G

olf Croquet social play days are Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. Lunch in the clubhouse is from 12, with play from 12:30 to 3:30. Visitors and new players are always welcome. Enquiries are welcome at any time. We run courses, generally on request, for beginners. As well as regular club social play days, the club and members take part in Pennants and other competitions. The club conducts two annual open competitions, the Windsor Cup and the Windsor Shield. Introduced in 2022 and held between March and November is the monthly brooches for both association and golf croquet. The clubhouse is also available for functions like Christmas parties, birthdays and hens/bucks parties where attendees can play croquet (with member assistance) and celebrate that special event. The Queensland Men’s Golf Croquet Singles Championship was held at the Windsor Croquet Club this weekend.
It was great to see so many spectators from our club cheering from the sidelines.
The playing conditions were first class with many competitors praising the speed of the lawns.
Well Done to our President, Shane Davis and Julie Simpson for Managing the event and all our wonderful members who mowed the surrounds, whipper snipped, made new hoop holes, put in hoops, dressed the lawns, made food, worked in the kitchen, got sandwiches from the corner shop, and helped cleaned up prior, during and after the event.
Everyone also enjoyed a magnificent BBQ on the final day.
Congratulation to Bob Martin for taking out the 2026 Title and Charlie Ernst for making the final undefeated.
Steve Buckley also played well to win the plate.
Special thanks to the referees who ensured every lawn had coverage for the entire competition.
It was a great weekend had by all.
Good luck to all those competing in the Queensland Open next weekend in Caloundra.
