💚 Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month – June 💚
This June, our Under 18.5 football team is proud to support Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, a global campaign dedicated to breaking down the stigma around mental health and encouraging men to seek support when they need it.
The club is incredibly proud of the initiative shown by our Under 18.5 players in bringing this campaign forward and helping raise awareness around such an important issue. Their willingness to advocate for mental health demonstrates leadership, maturity and a genuine commitment to supporting their mates both on and off the field.
To show our support and help raise awareness, our Under 18.5 players will be wearing green armbands during our next two home games.
Too often, men feel pressure to “man up” and face challenges alone. The reality is that having conversations, checking in on mates and reaching out for help can make a real difference.
This month, we encourage everyone to:
💚 Check in on a mate
💚 Start a conversation
💚 Listen without judgement
💚 Reach out for support when needed
Mental health affects everyone. Whether it’s a teammate, friend, family member or workmate, a simple conversation can have a lasting impact.
If you or someone you know needs support, help is available:
📞 Beyond Blue – 1300 22 4636 (24/7 support and counselling)
📞 South West Healthcare Mental Health & Wellbeing Service – 1800 808 284 (24-hour phone support)
📞 Lifeline – 13 11 14 (24/7 crisis support)
No one has to face life’s challenges alone.
Together, we can help create a community where talking about mental health is encouraged and seeking support is seen as a sign of strength.
