β›΅ START SAILING IS UNDERWAY! 🌊
Our latest Start Sailing course kicked off today at Sun City Yacht Club β€” and there are certainly no fair-weather sailors in this group! πŸ’¨πŸŒ₯️
Despite the challenging conditions, everyone got involved, launched the boats and started building their sailing skills out on the water. A fantastic effort from our new sailors. πŸ‘β›΅
A big thank you to our instructors and volunteers Shelly, Edward, Toon & Angelise for giving their time and sharing their knowledge.
This is what grassroots sailing is all about β€” learning new skills, having a go and enjoying the water together.

The proposed new Swan River ferry service would lose $2.75million a year, say critics who have scrutinised the state government business plan.

They also predict the plan could become a half-billion- dollar white elephant.

The critics say that the state government, to achieve its business plan estimate that the Swan River ferry service would raise $11million a year, would need 3,942,000 passengers.

That meant every ferry would have to be filled to capacity 18 hours a day, every day of the year.

Frostbite Series β€” Race Report

The final Frostbite race was held in excellent sailing conditions, with a steady southerly breeze of 8–10 knots providing an ideal day on the water.

Edward Riley dominated both rounds, taking line honours and handicap victory in each race to finish the day in outstanding form.

Chris Coves showed strong improvement across the two rounds, moving from 4th in Race 1 to 2nd in Race 2. Angel Piesse also sailed consistently, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively, while Mitchel Green recorded 3rd and 4th-place finishes.

Unfortunately, Shelly, Roger and Tooney were unable to complete the racing, retiring early due to mechanical issues.

Overall, it was a fantastic final Frostbite race, with competitive racing, challenging conditions and plenty of sailing action to round out the series.
