Circuit Excel S.A. Success 🏆

Over the weekend Braiden and Vaughn competed at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park for round 3 of the Circuit Excel SA Championship.

Vaughn had a stellar weekend, clean sweeping the race victories and staying ahead of the chaos in the 18 car masters field. Vaughn was fast and consistent all weekend, with some great winning margins.

Qualifying: 2nd (2:24.8s)
Race 1: 2nd - 1st
Race 2: 1st - 1st
Race 3: 1st - 1st
Overall: 1st 🏆

Braiden also had a positive weekend, fighting forward after a poor qualifying due to traffic. In Race 1 he beat his personal best lap time by almost a second and moved forward, however struggled with the car as the track evolved over the weekend.

Qualifying: 10th (2:24.0s)
Race 1: 10th - 6th
Race 2: 6th - 5th
Race 3: 5th - 7th
Overall: 7th

Race Week!

We are back on track this weekend at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park for round 3 of the Circuit Excel S.A. Series!

Darwin Excel Enduro wrap up!

Over the weekend Braiden and Vaughn competed in the Circuit Excel NT - CENT Darwin Enduro with a number of other Circuit Excel S.A. competitors. Thank you to GH Haulage for transporting all of the cars up for this event.

The weekend included plenty of track time and awesome racing in a 18 car trophy field. The format consisted of 6 heat races, and a 100 minute enduro featuring 2 wheel changes and a driver change.

The heat races were great fun, with the boys getting faster each run and fighting hard to be towards the front. Our points from the heats meant we started the enduro from 5th.

Vaughn put in an awesome stint at the start of the enduro, battling the leaders while fuel saving. A good stop for our first wheel change kept us in contention before Vaughn handed the car over to Braiden. We then got a little unlucky with a poorly timed safety car in the middle of all the pitstops, which meant we lost time to the leaders, however were able to complete our final wheel change in good time. Braiden then bought the car home saving fuel, and finished with the car surging heavily. Fortunately we made it to the end, and bought it home in 5th position!

Practice and Qualifying complete in Darwin.

Practice was solid, with Braiden and Vaughn sharing the 3 sessions. Car felt solid, and pace was decent.

In qualifying Braiden found the extra pace he was looking for, finishing 5th.

Vaughn had a red flagged shortened session which meant he only got a couple of laps, coming in 11th.

We have 4 heat races to come tomorrow, with Braiden starting 11th in Heat 1, and Vaughn 5th in Heat 2! (Format uses codrivers time for grids)

Weekend Wrap up from Round 2 of the Circuit Excel S.A. Championship! A very busy roller coaster of a Saturday at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park that contained very mixed conditions.

Braiden made his return to the series with some mixed results. Traffic in Qualifying, and getting put off the track in race 1 were a tough start to the day, but he showed plenty of car speed to be back in the top 5 in race 3. However he dipped a wheel off at the final corner while hunting down a podium and bent a rim, meaning he had to limp home.

Qualifying: 9th
Race 1: 9th - 8th
Race 2: 8th - 6th
Race 3: 6th - 6th
Overall: 5th

Vaughn once again managed to claim pole position in a wet qualifying. He also showed plenty of pace in some awesome battles in the Masters category, and managed to retain his championship lead and score another podium!

Qualifying: 1st
Race 1: 1st - 3rd
Race 2: 3rd - 1st
Race 3: 1st - 2nd
Overall: 2nd

A massive thank you to Brad Smedley and Henry Brumfield for helping out, wouldn’t have been able to get on track without them.
