OUR 2027 NOOSA DOLPHINS PRESIDENT – ROB FREY!

Rob has been a dedicated part of the Noosa Dolphins for more than 30 years first coming to the club as a player in the early 1990s. Throughout the years, he has taken on various roles, including Manager, Coach, and several administrative positions, including as Junior President. He is also a dedicated volunteer with the Droopy Dolphins.

Robs wife, Donna, actively participates in the strength of our Club leading in securing grants and organizing events. Their two sons, Jack and Mack, have strong connections to the Dolphins and continue to make valuable contributions through playing and volunteering in the Club’s medical team.

As President, Rob will be supported by a committed team focused on upholding the values, ethics, and culture that have defined the Noosa Dolphins for the past 40 years.

Together, they aim to reinforce the Club with a unified ‘one club’ philosophy that will benefit all players and volunteers, establishing a robust framework to ensure the Dolphins thrive for years to come.

Welcome Coach Marco Caputo to the Noosa Dolphins! 🏉

We are excited to announce that Former wallaby Marco Caputo will be joining us as the A Grade Head Coach for 2027! Marco’s connection with the Dolphins began several years ago when he brought the Gungahlin Eagles to Noosa for a pre-season camp. Since then, his relationship with our club has grown, especially with the success of his son Joey in our premiership-winning teams. 🏆

Marco has been a well-known presence at our training sessions, building strong relationships with both players and staff. His appreciation for our vibrant community and flourishing junior program is truly commendable. 🌟

With extensive coaching experience, Marco is eager to elevate our senior rugby program and lead the Dolphins to new accomplishments. His previous coaching roles include the Gungahlin Eagles, ACT Brumbies, Hashimoto Mitsubishi, Leinster Rugby, Kobelco Steelers in Japan and the Tongan International World Cup team. We look forward to him bringing his wealth of knowledge down to the next generation of Noosa dolphins.

Noosa Dolphins Rugby Club has a proud history of fostering talent and promoting rugby excellence. Nestled in the vibrant community of Noosa, the club is committed to developing the game of rugby through a supportive and inclusive environment. Our women’s team is a key part of our club and one of our most successful teams at the club.

Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Women’s Head Coach who is eager to take our team to the next level. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the game, a history of effective team management, and the ability to inspire and develop players of all skill levels.

Qualification/Certification: World Rugby Level 2 coaching accreditation or Equivalent/Willing to gain this accreditation

Responsibilities
Develop Training Programs: Design and implement comprehensive training sessions focused on skill development, strategy, and team cohesion.
Game Preparation: Formulate game plans, conduct video analysis, and lead team meetings to ensure optimal performance.
Player Development: Mentor and support players in their personal and athletic growth, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
Community Engagement: Actively engage with the community and support club events to promote women’s rugby at the grassroots level.
Experience: Previous coaching experience at a competitive level, preferably within women’s rugby.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of athletes.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with players, club members, and the community.

We’re thrilled to welcome Susie Maroney OAM, an Australian former marathon swimmer and true trailblazer. In 1997, aged just 22, she became the first woman and only the second person to swim the 180 km Florida Strait from Cuba to the United States in a shark cage.
