The Management Committee of the Noosa District Rugby Union Club (the Club) is in full planning for the 2020 Noosa 7βs.
Despite all of the disruptions, challenges and restrictions presented by COVID-19, interest in this yearβs competition has been very high. We would like to thank both clubs and sub-unions for their strong interest and continued support of the Noosa Sevens.
The Club is working closely with Council to deliver the event in line with the 500 person cap on events occurring on Council land and Queensland Government health requirements. The Management Committee would like to thank Noosa Shire Council for their continued support and guidance throughout 2020.
To comply with COVID-19 restrictions, this yearβs competition will be delivered over two weekends. In the juniors, we have received strong interest from Brisbane and country clubs as well as sub-unions across South-East, South-West and Central Queensland in relation to entering regional representative teams. The organising committee is excited by the opportunity of providing our junior players with access and exposure to elite sevenβs rugby in November at the Noosa Rugby Club.
Interest in the Senior division has been equally high and we have limited places available in both the social male and female divisions, which expect to fill very quickly.
Because of restrictions, we can only cater for 32 teams in this yearβs competition. That is 32 x Junior Teams on 7 & 8 November and 32 x Senior Teams on 14 November. Based on expressions of interest received, we have a small number of places available in some divisions.
