Day 2 of Women's Health Week brings my favourite topic....moving our bodies! Here's the page to check out on the Jean Hailes website with some super advice on pelvic floor health & even a bone health test you can do:

Here's my 3 TIPS/no BS thoughts on being active:
๐ It should be FUN! Even when something is challenging, when you finish you should feel pepped and pumped - proud of yourself! Whether it's because you love what you're doing or the people you are doing it with - it should make you want to go back again!
๐ It DOES NOT have to be much, especially when you start out or are starting again! It might be a walk around the block, a dance to one song with your kids (I highly recommend 'Can't Stop the Feeling" from the Trolls Soundtrack - awwwesome!), 10 squats in an ad break, going up steps more than once just for fun! We THINK we need to go all-in and knock out big efforts for it to be worth it.....utter bo****ks! What if those little activities help you form this awesome habit first? That is winning!
๐ There is so much talk about strength training for women right now, and it is a super message....BUT strength training can begin at home just using your bodyweight and some tins from the pantry. You DO NOT need to go straight to the gym, especially if the thought is horrifying. Start a little routine of step ups, squats, push ups with your hands on a seat/couch and plank. Try 8-10 of each and a 20 count plank. Maybe you do it 2-3 times a week. Maybe 2 weeks later you want to add more reps of each exercise, or another exercise, maybe a week later you invite a mate around to join you. You've started - winning!
Small steps are the BEST! When something is so simple to do you don't think to skip it, that's a perfect place to start.
