This season has been a bit of an unusual one for our little dive shop here in Port Noarlunga. With South Australia’s devastating algae bloom, snorkelling and diving activity has been much quieter than usual, and not knowing how the season would unfold we’ve had to take on other dive work interstate and overseas. Because of this, GO2DIVE will have limited opening hours for the rest of the season. Please check whether we’re open before visiting at 👉 https://www.go2dive.com.au/open-or-closed. exHMAS HOBART & Second Valley Drift 🤿

We’ve had great viz and calm conditions on the exHMAS HOBART, lots of fish, and Weedy Seadragons at Second Valley, so with the long range forecast looking fantastic for Saturday (much better than Monday), we’re switching things up to take advantage of the conditions and we’re including a Drift Dive at Second Valley so you can see a Weedy Seadragon!

Rapid Bay double whammy update.

Important Notice – Rapid Bay Jetties

Council has received the following update from SA Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) regarding works at Rapid Bay.

New Rapid Bay Jetty:

DIT will be undertaking maintenance works on the new Rapid Bay Jetty to improve its structural integrity and lifespan.

📅 Works are scheduled to begin 1 July 2025 and continue through to mid-September 2025, weather permitting.

✅ The jetty will remain open and accessible as much as safely possible; however, some intermittent daytime closures will be required. These will be communicated via onsite signage at least 48 hours in advance.

👉 Full access will be maintained on weekends and during events.

Old Rapid Bay Jetty:

Following an inspection after the 26 May storm, further safety risks have been identified at the Old Rapid Bay Jetty.

⚠️ Diving, swimming and boating are now prohibited around the entire structure.
The exclusion zone has been expanded to cover beneath the jetty and 20 metres on either side and at both ends.

DIT will install additional signage and buoys to clearly mark this area.
