Big thanks to all that came and shared a beautiful morning at the reserve.
Was wonderful to see everyone so casually chatting away, lots of smiling faces and together through raffles and donations raising $$591 plus we sold $100 worth of chrysanthemums on Mothers Day making a total of
$691 for our local Tamworth branch of Can-Assist.
If you didn’t make it try next year about the same time.
The settings tops, it’s a terrific opportunity to catch up with neighbours and friends, fabulous assortment of cakes to feast on and all for a worthy cause.
Thanks to Fords Butchery for donating a succulent looking meat tray won by Bob Hutt.
Second prize a box of fresh vegetables won by B.Abra.
To all that contributed, thank you.

Community Morning Tea – Let’s Rally for Can Assist Tamworth

Ok folks, this one really matters.

Next Wednesday we’re coming together to raise funds for the Tamworth branch of Can Assist, an organisation that directly supports locals facing cancer treatment. Every dollar we raise stays right here in our community, helping families when they need it most.

You can read more about their work here:
https://www.facebook.com/CanAssistTamworth

Join us on Wednesday 13th from 9.30am for a big-hearted community morning tea.

Woody will have his camp oven roaring, serving his famous scones or damper piled high with jam and fresh whipped cream. It’s worth the trip just for that.

But most importantly —
please bring a few dollars (or more if you can) to throw in the tin.
Let’s make a real difference for Can Assist and the families they support.

Please also bring:

• A plate to share
• A few of your favourite desserts
• Friends, neighbours, and anyone who loves a good cause

The grounds are looking fantastic, and if you haven’t visited lately, this is the perfect chance to see all the improvements while supporting something truly worthwhile.

Let’s fill the place, fill the table, and fill the donation tin.

See you next Wednesday from 9.30am.

We provide financial assistance, practical support and accommodation to country people in NSW affected by any type of cancer.

Market Day Farewell – With Thanks From the Piallamore Recreation Reserve

Looking at the photo below, it’s easy to remember why our Annual Market Day meant so much to so many. Since 2014, the reserve has come alive with stalls, families, music, laughter, and the unmistakable buzz of a true community gathering.

Today, we share some bittersweet news.
After twelve wonderful years, the committee has reluctantly decided to bring Market Day to a close. Our organisers — who have carried this event with heart and grit — are aging, and no new hands have stepped forward to take the baton. It wasn’t an easy call.

We want to thank every single person who helped make days like the one in this photo possible: our generous sponsors, loyal siteholders, tireless volunteers, and TRC’s Place Management team. Your support turned Market Day into one of the region’s most popular and loved events.

It was also our major fundraiser, and the improvements you now see across the Reserve were made possible because of the community spirit behind this event. For that, we are deeply grateful.

But this is not the end of the story.

With the facilities we now have, we’re ready to welcome groups and organisations looking for a venue for multi‑day gatherings — car clubs, caravan groups, bike tours, business retreats, and more. Please keep the Piallamore Recreation Reserve in mind.

The reserve is also available for day events, family gatherings etc. plus the air conditioned school house might be of interest for club / community meetings.

The tennis courts can be booked or used informally at any time. Lights are available for night tennis.

We continue to host a strong following of campers during the Tamworth Country Music Festival and run numerous events throughout the year.

Thank you for the memories — and stay tuned for what comes next.

Follow us on Facebook or Piallamorerecreationreserve.com.au to keep up with future happenings at the Reserve.
