Wash-leading week. Sit on the wash, take your turn on the front, and catch the runs home. 🌊
This is our work together week. Wash-leading is the art of paddling in a bunch: sitting on someone's wash to save energy, taking your turn leading. It is the single biggest free speed in ocean paddling, and with light glassy water all week the triangles run as clean out-and-back loops, so you get to practise wash-lead rotations in a pack rather than grinding alone. Whatever your level, pack paddling makes the sessions more social and a lot more fun.
What's on:
• Mon 6:00 AM · Technique focus · L1 / L2 · CBD · Swan River
• Mon 5:00 PM · Distance focus · L3 / L4 · Hillarys (out-and-back triangle)
• Tue 6:00 AM · Technique focus · L1 to L4 · Johnston Street Boat Ramp
• Wed 6:00 AM · Distance focus · L3 / L4 · CBD · Swan River
• Fri 6:00 AM · Technique focus · L1 to L4 · Hillarys
• Sat 2:30 PM · Distance focus · L3 / L4 · Port Beach
Winds stay light all week, so expect glassy water and standard out-and-back triangles: way out is timed efforts, way home is wash-lead rotations. We confirm conditions on the morning.
Avon Descent is 7 weeks out. Pack skills now pay off all the way to Northam.
Every paddling session is targeted at either L1, L2, L3 and L4, so book the level that fits where you are this week.
